Dinning Plus Question

We are going in April and have the Dinning Plus Plan. How does that work when ordering meals? For example, at counter service, do I have to order the meal, drink, and desert all at the same time? At the sit-down, if dinner fills us and we don't order desert, do we forfeit the desert? Or can we go someplace else later on for the desert? If we can split up the orders, how does that work - does our card just figure it out?

Never did dining plus, but the reg ddp. With that you get your dessert and bev with the meal. You get your snack options seperately. So if I stay 7 nights I get 7 TS, 7 QS and & 7 snacks, I can use them how i like, but if I don't get dessert with a particular meal I don't get it later. But i still have a snack option I can use. I imagine all plans work the same, they just offer more QS or TS options, or alcohol.

Lets be sure we are talking about the same plan here because there is no such thing as the "Dining Plus Plan".

There are 3 options for the Dining Plan(Dining Plan,Quick service plan, and the Deluxe Dining Plan)

Seems like you are talking about the Deluxe Dining Plan, but then you go on to talk about counter service meals. The Deluxe plan includes 3 table service credits per day, no Counter service. While you can use a Table Service credit for a counter service meal it would really take away from the value of the plan.

Anyways, to the point. When it comes to table service all items need to be ordered at the time of the meal. Some Counter Service places will let you come back for your desert at a later time by showing them your receipt (keep in mind that this is not official, but tends to be the norm when dealing with ice cream as it will melt before you get a chance to eat it.)

The Disney Dining Plus plan is what we call the basic, regular or DDP. It consists of 1 Table Serve-TS (sit down restaurant), 1 Counter Serve-CS (order from a counter and carry your meal to a table) and 1 Snack per night of your stay.

You are entitled to 1 drink 1 entree and 1 dessert at both the TS and CS or a combo meal at a CS. The credits come just like stated above 1TS credit - this means if you go to Le Cellier for dinner order a drink and entree but not a dessert you are not eligible to receive your dessert elsewhere. Same goes for CS. You may have your dessert boxed to go, most CS desserts are already packaged so they can be easily carried back to your room. At CS if you ask they may allow you to swap a dessert of a different side item. I was able to get a yogurt once, a package of baby carrots another time. If you would prefer not to order a drink you may receive a bottle of water instead.

cnetbuild - stop over on the Disney Dining Plan forum to learn lots of wonderful info on making the most of the DDP.
And particularly look at the Confirmed Snack Credit options thread to see ALL the incredible options for snacks beyond a popcorn, piece of fruit or bottle of water! Yummy!

Oh and :welcome: to the DIS!
