We prefer DDE (Disney Dining Experience). We like to eat two table service meals a day & skip counter service altogether. The deluxe dining plan would work for us, but we save more with DDE. If you like 1/2 TS & 1/2 CS, DDP may work better for you. I would wait until the 2009 DDP is released, then add up your cost both ways to see which one will save you the most.

We also prefer the DDE. I've worked out the numbers, and it just seems like a better deal for my family of four. We generally only have one big meal per day and just snack the rest of the time, so we don't need as much food as the DDP offers. Kids and I like to share meals as well, since most of the WDW portions are rather large. Who wants to ride thrill rides and walk around in the heat with an overful stomach? Also, DH and I enjoy wine or beer at meals, and those aren't included with DDP, but with the DDE, you get 20% off. I also feel that if we were on the DDP, we would feel obligated to eat more than we normally would.

I'm just the opposite. We even let our DDE card expire.
But to each his own.

With the changes to the Dining Plan this year I really thought it was no longer a good deal. However, when I sat down and did the math it was still a good deal. If you want to eat TS for dinner then I say go for the Dining Plan.

We are FL residents with APs and the DDE. We go 4-6 times a year so the DDE makes sense for us....also we like to share meals and snacks instead of ordering one for each of us.
