I need help in deciding whether book our Dec vacation at a value resort (POP) & get the Dinning Plan or book at a moderate resort, probably POL-FQ.
We can't afford the Moderate and Dinning plan both, but if we do a value resort we can proabably make the dinning plan work.

Here are the pro's & con's I'm dealing with.
I am leaning towards the dinning plan option, as I like to have things paid for before we go. Plus my husband & I like to enjoy our meals when we travel. I'm afraid the of the CC bill once we return if we don't have do the meal plan.
The main thing I worry about is that we are taking our wonderful babysitter (20) and our 3yr old, will the value resort be enough room for us- My husband is 6'5" & he hates being confined inside. Plus my 3yr old gets very wound-up & I'm worried the theming of the value resorts will be too much at the end of the long day-
Where at the moderate- POL- FQ (which my DH & I were at 5 years ago) Seems very laid back & relaxing at the end of the day.

Can we upgrade before we leave if we have saved enough to do either?

Any advice would be great-

Will all 4 of you be staying in one room? Unless your 20 yr old sitter is also a close family member, I think offsite would be your better choice. You'll have way more space for the little one to decompress, and more personal space for everyone else.

She is a very close friend-(she has watched him every summer since he was born- she and her entire family are like family to us) I considered off site, but we want to stay onsite to be able to use the DIS transportation so any one of us can take the little one back the room if we need to - while the other two stay at the parks-

We've brought my sis' along on trips to the values----so 3 adults and one kid and an under 3. The tight part for us was the luggage. But we dealt with it just fine. The mod rooms really aren't all that much bigger--but the beds might be a tad bigger.

Anyway--my inkling would be to go for the dining plan. Especially if hubby is like mine and scoffs at money being spent while on vacation. At least all your food (For the most part) will be paid for.

Definately do the dining plan!

Yes, you can upgrade to a different resort if a deal becomes available :flower:

I would go with the dining plan as well - you won't have to be looking at how much items are on the menu or take that into consideration while booking reservations. For as much as a person is in their room at WDW, I don't personally see spending the extra (IF you can't). Don't get me wrong...I would LOVE to stay in a deluxe...just can't justify the money end of it right now and our kids love the value resorts better than the deluxe or moderates.

Thanks, I think we are going to do the dinning plan, less to worry about while we are there. I think we will go ahead and book at Pop Century & if we stick to our budget and have some extra money I may up-grade as a X-mas gift to ourselves.

Thanks for the help!

The beds at the moderates are also just full size, not queen surprisingly. Besides, you will save LOTS & LOTS of $$ using the dining plan and can splurge on really expensive meals without spending a penny (LeCellier, character dining, etc). We saved over $450 on our trip in May with dining plan and are lucky enough to be going in Oct. with free dining plan as well. I would like to suggest that you really look over the restaurants and menus at WDW (allearsnet.com has all menus) and make the most of the dining plan. We planned all our restaurants and already have reservations for the entire trip. We went to places we never would have gone paying cash and are going all over the place which we love. Enjoy!!!! :wave2:
