Dinner with Ariel

How come there is no dinner with Ariel? Logically, shouldn't say Coral Reef be a character meal with Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian, Ursula, etc?

If I can eat with all the other Princesses somewhere, shouldn't I be able to dine with the mermaid also?

Ariel can be found on occassion at Akershus in Norway @ Epcot. It appears you have a better chance of seeing her for lunch/dinner, but has also appeard during breakfast.

That seems like an obscure place for Ariel to be. Shouldn't she be at Cinderella's castle also? At least put her somewhere with fish.

Welcome to the Dis, and by the way...I'm from Queens too.

It would be nice to have a character meal with Ariel at the Coral Reef, but the Coral Reef seems to be a fancier more upscale dining experience so I don't think they would ever do it.

Ariel has been known to make appearances in her ball gown at the Akershus breakfast in Epcot every so often but not always. I think there is a character meal with Ariel in Disneyland.

Other than that, you can find her at Ariel's grotto in MK or in the toontown hall of fame in MK but she isn't always at the HOF either.

Disneyland doesn't help me. That's really far from Disneyworld, where I'm actually going. lol

I am trying to plan as many character meals as possible so I can meet them w/o waiting in ridiculous lines. I know the line to meet Ariel can take forever.

How far in advance does Disney plan who will be at what meal?

As far as I know- they won't reveal who will be at what meal ahead of time. We have had Ariel in her green dress for dinner at Akershus at the princess meals.

They always say that characters are subject to change. I would guess that they may not know until the day of who is going to be there.

I know what you mean...my DD3 loves Ariel--don't flame me for this blasphemy, but I'm not sure if she even knows who Cinderella is! I'm trying to work on that before our trip though.

From what I have seen, if Ariel does appear in Norway, it is usually at lunch or dinner. I guess I will just have to keep my fingers crossed since we are doing breakfast.

Another thought I had was that if they didn't want to disrupt the ambience of lunch or dinner at Coral Reef, maybe they could add a breakfast? It wouldn't have to be a buffet/

oh well, enough rambling...there is always a visit to her grotto at MK!

Ariel was in Norway for breakfast when we went and you can also catch her in MK, she has her own cove there!

We saw her at Akershus for lunch Nov. 2006. She was the one who greated us and they used for the picture they try to get you to buy.

Thanks. Like the others said, the only place to maybe meet her during a meal is in Norway- Restaurant Akershus and its not guaranteed that she'll be there. Disney doesn't let anyone know for sure which characters will be in which place in advance. You'll just have to show up and hope for the best.
