Does anyone have any experience trying to eat with a large party. We are getting married in October and were considering having our rehersal dinner at either 1900 or Ohana's. The reason we wanted one of these two was because they are buffet's and we thought they would save us some money. We are probably going to have a party of 20 to 30 people. Any help would be great, the stress of planning is starting to take it's toll on us.

First of all, you might find the wedding planner can provide assistance. Also for a group like that you really need to make the reservation at the 180 day out mark so you can get the group in; if necessary reserve for the larger number, it is much easier to decrease a reservation than increase it.

Second you must make your reservation for the time the restaurant opens, or within the first 20 minutes. This way everyone in your group can be seated together; if not at one large table, at least at adjoining ones.

I would think 1900 Park Fare would be better, as 'Ohana is not a true buffet and really has a very limited menu. Also you can ask to be seated at the very back, which is sort of a semi-private dining area. Other very good options are Boma (no characters) or Chef Mickey.

Here is a link for all the menus. First they are listed for the parks and then the resorts.
