Dinner shows?

Hi

Have any of you guys been to a dinner show? Which one's? Is it worth the money? And what was the food like?

The basic rule of thumb with the dinner shows is that the food is pretty average. Sleuth's is a bit above average, Medieval Times is usually the best for quantity (and fun). I also rate MT the most engaging of the shows, Sleuth's the funniest (but not for younger kids), Pirates has the best staging, and Arabian Nights is ideal for children who like horses. Avoid Capone's like the plague!

I have only been to Midevil Times and the Pirates dinner theathers
I liked both. If you enjoy more stunts go to Pirates, if you enjoy equestrian action go to MT. Both are worth it. Plus Pirates has snacks before the dinner and a pre show. Where as the MT does not. Have fun!

Thumbs up for Pirates !

We visited on our last trip and had an excellent night.

The evening starts off in a pre-show area - set out like a market place - with free snacks (drinks have to be paid for in this area !)

The pre-show is entertaining - with some audience participtaion - and builds up the story for the main event.

You are assigned to a particular pirate who you have to support throughout the evening !

The main stage area is impresive - a full size pirate ship on water - the seats are circled the whole way around the auditorium - all having an excellent view - and are split into sections which correspond to the pirates !

The meals (which were average) and unlimited drinks were served throughout the show - although there is so much gonig on you hardly have time to eat and drink.

The actual show is very good - full of action, comedy and music - and audince participation is fantastic - the kids even took part in the show aboard the ship !!!

After the show there is a family disco back in the market place area.

All in all an excellent and enjoyable evenings entertainment - I have to be honest and say I was not looking forward to it - but I was proved very wrong !

... I don't think I'm typical but I wasn't keen on Pirates. Unless you happened to be at the front for the pre-show it was impossible to see what was going on so I couldn't get that involved.
I found the food just okay - Janice had the vegetarian option and found it inedible. ( It was a cold lasagne)
We made sure we enjoyed ourselves but in spite of our pirate being easily the most athletic of the bunch, we seemed to be the only ones in our section applauding and cheering and getting into the spirit of the thing.. trying to make up for the rest of our section who sat there motionless left us exhausted LOL!!
( I am beginning to think it's me though - I wasn't keen on the dinner show at DLP either, but many people seem to enjoy it)

My impressions on the dinner shows:

Best Deal - Arabian Nights (especially if you buy the tickets from www.disney123.com)

Best Show if you have girls - Arabian Nights

Best Show if you have boys - Pirates

Best Show if you have a mix - Pirates

Most overrated show - Medieval Times - Been there forever but seems a little stale.

Best food - Sleuths - underrated - a little racy on the humor but teenagers still loved it

Jury still out - Tony N Tina's - They were called Soulfire and it was a good show with below average food. They closed 2 weeks ago and are reopening on Feb 14th as the world famous Tony N Tina's. If they don't improve the food, I wouldn't recommend. But I'll have an update after I go to opening nite.

Best Budget Dinner show - WonderWorks night of wonder - cheap pizza and beer magic show but the kids were rollin on floor laughing....and the pizza was fresh at least.

Don't bother - Masters of Magic - My GOD what a crap show! Cheesy Vegas wanna be magician with broken props and pizza in a box in the lobby that you take a slice into the theater. And you have to PAY for a bottled drink! STAY AWAY!

Only been to Arabian Sh*tes, that should tell you what we thought. The food was cold, the entertainment was not to our liking & we made a swift exit early on vowing to never go to a dinner show again. BTW the name change I have given it refers to the trouble we had the next day
