Hi,

We're going in the Fall and was trying to decide about doing the dinner shows ... does anyone know anything about the Dine with Shamu or Backstage at Believe dinners - what's the difference? And what about the Breakfast with Elmo? Is it good/worth it? I'm looking for more details on each and the SeaWorld website is a bit vague. I'll be travelling with DD5 and DS3 - my DS3 LOVES "Shampoo" from seeing him last October(Shamu was a little too confusing at not quite 2) , so if we can really get close to Shamu would be great, but the website is vague on the actual level of interaction.

Any information/recommendations would be great.

Thank you!!

Since I have not done Dine With Shamu yet, I'll only tell you about Backstage at Believe.

Backstage at Believe is hosted by the "stage manager" of the show, you head into the Cove and you can immediately head to the buffet for your food and your server will bring you the drink of your choice.

Throughout the hour-ish meal, the stage manager will begin to talk and then on the LCD screen in the Cove there is about a 20-25min long video about the Making Of Believe.

Cut into this video is a video interaction between the stage manager and one of the trainers at Shamu Stadium about what its like to train the whales, etc.

At the end of the buffet you are given the whale-tail pendants (1 for each person) and then escorted to reserved seating for the next Believe show.

Backstage at Believe does not include any specific whale or trainer interaction, however there will probably be a whale in the water near the tables, and the trainers may or may not interact with that particular whale. It is not a planned part of the experience so there is no guarantee.

Now while I haven't done Dine With Shamu, I do know that: the buffet is the same, yet higher priced, you do get to interact with trainers and they do a bit with the whales, and you do *not* get reserved seating at any of the shows.

Someone who has done Dine With Shamu and the breakfasts will probably be able to share more, and I think there are some other threads with info too.
