Dinner shows and the dining plan

Can i reserve a dinner show online (Hoop-Dee-Doo) and not have my credit card charged? We will use the dining plan to pay when we get there. Or is charge just a hold on the card to make sure you arrive?

I was told by the Reservation lady, that they are just holds. We had to put our CC# in for that and Lunch w/ Cinderella. Our TS meals will be used.

If you already have a resort reservation that includes the DDP, your credit card will not be charged. You will still need to give a CC # as a guarantee.

However, if you do not have a resort reservation yet or it does not yet include the DDP, you credit card will be charged the full amount. You will be issued a refund the night of the HDDR after you pay with your dining plan.

just be careful. Sometimes their system is sort of wonky (shocking, huh) and WILL actually charge you. Just watch the totals. It should say 0. I have done this successfully in the past, and have failed miserably at it and had to call. Just be aware of what the system is doing before you ok it. Don't assume it will do what it's supposed to.

If you want to book any of the Dinner shows like HDD or SoA on the WDW website, you can click on the "I want to use my dining plan to book reservations." link and then book the reservation and the site won't charge your card. Of course, it's probably easier on the phone, but it's a way to check what dates are available before you call.

They hold a credit card for any dinner show or 2 TS meals they do not charge the card --unless--one fails to show up or cancel. They told me to cancel 24 hours before if possible and that was not a problem.
