Dinner Show question

I am planning a trip to Universal, etc for
March and was wondering what sort of dinner shows they offered. We are staying at the HRH and my kids are 9 and 11. Any ideas??

There are some character type dinners, I'll save all the check-in stuff this week-end to post next week.
CityWalks' Margaritaville, NBA City, & Nascar Cafe seem pretty popular for that age group too.
March is good time to go. Monster Cafe before Mardi Gras is a fun place.

The RPR also has a luau on weekends. Some have said it's great, others did not enjoy it.

For some cool dinner shows, you'll have to travel off-site. The closest ones to Universal are Pirates Dinner Adventure and Sleuths. Both are very fun, have great food, and are interactive. Plus they're both off Universal Blvd, so they're a short drive away.

Sleuths is a murder mystery show. In the beginning, you get to mingle with the characters while you get seated and acquainted with the people at the table you will be sharing. The show eventually starts, and someone dies. The PD shows up and explains your role. You try to figure out "whodunit" and can ask a question to any of the characters. It's quite fun, and they have several different "cases", so you may not get the same show twice!

That murder mystery sounds like so much fun! Can kids attend? Or is it not appropriate? DS is 10
And can you get tickets that week? Or do you have to preorder, well in Advance? (We are going 3rd week in December)

Of course kids can attend. It's family friendly, and can be really silly. I would recommend getting the tickets/reservations a few days in advance, as the shows are small-ish, and might sell out.

Sleuths is great. I especially like the fact that it is a home-grown, low-tech, entertainment alternative that doesn't rely on multi-million dollar budgets to provide a great experience.

It's also a great place for local actors (many of whom have day jobs at the theme parks) to hone their skills.

I am thinking of going to Cirque De Soliel instead. Any thoughts? I was told to try House Of Blues -it's apparently walking distance.

House of blues is a restaurant, not really a dinner show. The food is great, but completely different from the whole dinner show idea. It is walking distance from Cirque du Soleil, not from HRH or Universal.

Just saw your other thread, so ignore my previous post. you will love Cirque and House of Blues. But as you know they are not a dinner show combo.

Cirque de Soleil is amazing. The whole thing is done WITHOUT SPEAKING. It's impressive.

Does anyone have any opinions about Wonder Works Outta Control Magic Show?? I was thinking about taking my kids to this. Thanks!!

I've been there. It's all you can eat pizza and all you can drink soda. The show is simple, but fun. It's just a magician, his assistant, and a whole bunch of sound effects. And auidence participation, of course.

U can buy a combo ticket which allows access to all of wonder works as as dinner show and even a laser tag combo ticket this show is a big hit with kids on the pirate show we enjoyed it I was a pirate and my kids got picked as well to take part in show even DW was grabbed at pre show and had to dance on stage it was really fun evening although find the tip quite hard to swallow at what they where looking for the Arabian show was very good as well although found pre show area very crowded and boring and at end of show thats it where as at pirate show u had a disco where the kids to run off there energy before bed next year we are going to try RPR luau and the Dolly Dixie show

Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede is good, Highlander.

The preshow is fun, for when I went they had a guy on horseback how went around the tables and even went upstairs WITH THE HORSE and let people pet him (the horse). He also got two volunteers from the auidence and with their assistance, showed off his skill with a whip.

The main show separates the auidence into North and South, showcasing different historical events of both sides. It's very fun, and of course, auidence participation. The food there is also very good. The cream of vegetable soup they had there was amazing!!
