We have three dinners planned inside the World, but are looking to save some money by having the others outside. Has anyone done this and is it worth the drive? Any recommendations? We will have a rental car during our stay.

We have years of experience staying off-site, and my favourite restaurant is Kobe Japanese Steakhouse. I'm not sure this would save much money though, but they usually have a coupon in the Welcome guides!

Have fun!

We ate at Bahama Breeze in January and it was wonderful! The best rare ahi tuna I've ever had :goodvibes . The have regular food too!

We like Sweet Tomatoes. It's buffet-style, but they have a huge salad bar, soups, pasta, baked potatoes, breads and desserts (including ice cream and sundae toppings). It's very reasonable - about $8 for adults and $5 for kids - and you have a great selection that should please everyone. You can also sign up for their Club Veg for coupons.

There are a few restaurants in the Crossroads area outside Downtown Disney. There is Chevy's (my family likes to go there almost every trip), Pizzaria Uno (yum), TFI Friday's, Jungle Jim's, and Pebbles. On I-Drive there are more restaurants than I can count on fingers including, im my opinion, the best chinese food in Orlando. It's called Ming Court and I highly recommend it. Not only is the food amazing but the staff is incredibly friendly. At Pointe Orlando on I-Drive there is a seafood place and a few other restaurants like Dan Marino's Town Tavern. (I can't remember the name of the seafood place but I did like it). In Old Town Orlando, there is a Damon's (sports grill kinda thing) and an old time soda shop. In Celebration, there are many cute restaurants on the waterfront. One is called the Celebration Town Tavern (I believe) and the prices are right. I hope this helps!

Oh, I almost forgot! At the end of I-Drive is a mall called Festival Bay...It has a few restaurants in there including Dixie Crossroads which I think got "best seafood in Orlando".

For a different experience, near Rollins College in Winter Park, FL (a 20 minute drive down I-4 or so) there is a road called Park Ave with about 20 different restaurants and shops (Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn..that kinda thing). Most of the restaurants are set up so you can sit outside and enjoy the weather.
