Dinner on Last Night

I need some opinions. I was thinking of eating at Whispering Canyon Cafe on our (DH, DS8 and me) last night at WDW. The menu does not have a lot of selection for food we would like, but there is something for all of us. I have heard it was fun, but we are also eating at 50's Prime Time, which I think is similar with regard to the behavior of the CM's. I had also thought we would look around the hotel and watch the water pageant from the dock.

Then, I started thinking that maybe we should go to DTD and eat at House of Blues or Planet Hollywood instead because I do not think we will have had time to do that. We could go our first night, but it could be 7:00 p.m. before we check in so I had planned to stay at the resort (POP). My main reason is because we would like the food better and we will have already seen 4 parades, so would it be a big deal to miss the pageant? What do you think my DS8 would enjoy more? The WL and pageant or DTD?

For me, I would prefer HOB & DTD. I think an 8yo. would probably enjoy WCC & the water pageant more, or at least my DS would have at that age. He's not much of a shopper, but there is a few DTD shops he likes, mostly on the Westside. However, if you haven't been able to make it to DTD already, that would definitely be a more full evening for your last night. Have you considered an early dinner at WCC, then catching the boat to Fort Wilderness for the campfire, & movie. You could catch the water pageant at their beach at 9:45pm. The EWP is nice, but not like the other parades, not really something to plan an entire evening around. JMO This would be a more full & fun evening to end on. Have a great trip!
