Ok... I'm in a dinner rut!:confused3 I am tired of the same old recipes. I pulled out hamburger for tonight and there is no way I can make tacos, enchiladas, spagetti, or meatloaf one more time! Atleast not this week, as I have wore those dishes out! :rotfl2:

So I would really loooove your help! Any good Ideas or recipes that I could use hamburger with other than the ones I mentioned?

Thanks disers!:thumbsup2

A simple Goulash
mini sweet and sour meatballs over rice (chili sauce and jelly- I like to use cranberry sauce instead of jelly)
mini cheese burgers wrapped in crescent dough
sheppard's pie

Here's a go-to item for us:

Brown the ground hamburger/discarding the grease/season with salt and pepper, and to a 2 quart casserole dish in which you've already put 1 can of chicken broth and 1 can of chicken noodle soup and 1 cup of uncooked white rice. Mix, cover, and put in an oven at 375 degrees. Check around 45 minutes to see if there is still enough liquid in it to keep the rice cooking or if the rice is done. If not add a bit of hot water and keep cooking for another 15 minutes.

We serve with a green salad usually.

You've already made hamburger 4 times this week? It's time to pull out some lean chicken. There is nothing that you can do to ground meat on day #5 that is going to sound appetizing.

You'll love this one, especially if you have kids.

Pizza Muffins/Cupcakes

1lb Hamburger
1 can Pilsbury biscuts (these work best because of the thickness) (will make 8)
Ragu pizza sauce
Pizza cheese
You could also add veggies or anything to your liking.

Brown hamburger, drain, add ragu pizza sauce, cook as directed.

In a cupcake tin, squish 1 biscut into each place, somewhat forming along the edges - don't have to be too picky about it.

Add hamburger mix.
Top with cheese.

Bake at 350 for 10 minutes - (watch because I'm not exactly sure of time) but until cheese is melted and biscuts are golden brown.

Cool down and enjoy. These are always a hit whenever we make them.

Quick too!!

Enjoy!

Try a Pasta Bake

Preheat oven to 425. In a lasagna pan pour in 1 box of Penne pasta. Add 1 jar of Prego spaghetti sauce. Use prego jar to add 1 jar of water. Mix together. Cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes. While pasta is baking, cook ground beef with garlic salt and pepper. Drain any fat. After 30 minutes add ground beef to pasta. Mix together. Sprinkle Monterey jack cheese on top. Cover with foil again and bake for 15 minutes. Serve with garlic bread and salad!
YES, it sounds like lasagna or sgahetti, but it TASTES soooo good!

Don't assume. We eat mostly meals made with chicken breast. We do however have something made with ground beef 2-3 times per week. It just seems that lately whenever I make my meals with hamburger those are the ones I make. It's getting old. Just asking for some friendly ideas.

Wonderful ideas disers!

Of course I only can choose one dish but I'll be storing some of these ideas away for later use! :)

Goulash sounds yummy! I haven't done that one in a long time. unfortunately I'm the only one who really loves this dish in our house. The pizza muffin cupcakes sound good too! I will put that on the menu for next week as I will have to buy biscuits.

The meatball idea sparked my interest too!

My favorite casserole:
1 lb ground beef browned and drained
1 bag egg noodles cooked
1 jar yor favorite red pasta sauce
16 oz cheddar cheese shredded
Mix all ingredients together with exception of 1cup cheese
Top casserole with remaining cheese
Bake on 325 till cheese is melted.

Got this from
A girlfriend and it is now one of our favs and a staple in our house!

I use the Lipton Noodles side dishes. Depending on how many you're serving, you could use two packets.

I make beef stew with hamburger quite a bit. Brown and drain the hamburger, add a box of beef stock and a few cans of whatever veggies you like (drained, of course), and one packet each of beef stew seasoning and brown gravy mix. Sometimes I add rice, mostly for my husband's sake, as he's not really a soup/stew fan.

We eat ground turkey, but use it like hamburger.

I am not a fan of cooking, so these are all simple and fast to make after work. We are having tatertot casserole tonight. Burgers on the grill are great for summer. Sloppy joes made with manwich sauce. Hamburger Helper makes lots of varieties. I always use 1 lb meat to 2 boxes of HH mix - there is still plenty of meat.

Tater Tot Casserole:

•2 lbs. ground beef
•kosher salt and freshly-ground black pepper, to taste
•1 10 oz. can low-sodium cream of mushroom soup
•1 cup sour cream (low fat is okay)
•2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
•1 32 oz. package frozen tater tots

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray.

2.Brown ground beef. Season with salt and pepper, while browning. Drain.

3.Spread ground beef in the prepared baking dish. Whisk together soup and sour cream. Spread over ground beef in an even layer.

4.Sprinkle one cup of cheddar cheese over the soup layer.

5.Top with tater tots.

6.Bake 30 minutes. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Bake another 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted.

I always add a veggie too. Spinach, corn, or green beans works the best!

How about stuffed green peppers?

Blanch green peppers and set aside. Brown and drain hamburger. Prepare Spanish Rice a Roni according to package directions. When rice is done, add hamburger and fill green peppers. Top with shredded cheese and bake for about 15 minutes.

Super easy and good! You can use ground turkey or chicken as well as beef.

Mock Shephard's Pie
1 lb brown & drained meat
1 can mushroom soup
1/2 can of water
bag of frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn, beans)
stir together, put in baking dish
top with Frozen Hash Browns and 1 cup of cheese
bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes or browned

Cottage Pie:

Brown ground beef with salt and freshly ground pepper. Add 1 whole carrot thinly sliced and 1 sm onion. Cook for 5 min. Set aside.

Melt 2tbsp butter add 2tbsp flour. Mix well and cook until flour is slightly brown. Add 1 c beef broth and 2 tsp worsch. sauce. Whisk together and cook until gravy is thickened. Add to ground beef mixture. Add 1-2 C (couple handfuls) frozen corn (or peas but I think peas are gross :duck:).

Pour mixture into 13x9 glass baking dish. Prepare 4-6 serving mashed potatoes and add 3 tbsp sour cream or cream cheese. Spoon potatoes on top of casserole. Top with sweet paprika. Bake @ 350 degress for 30 minutes.

Enjoy! This is delicious and makes for some yummy leftovers. :thumbsup2
