We are planning a group dinner for eleven of us. The kids in the group are between 3 and 9.

Last year we were a party of 9 and dined at a big round table at O'Hana, which was great. We are looking at someplace different this year. Right now we are thinking about Whispering Canyon Cafe. Everyone agrees on the location from past experience, but we areworried about being seated together.

Anyone have any experience with a large group at Whispering Canyon. If not, what else has worked for a party of eleven?

I don't know about Whispering Canyon, but I can tell you that the Living Seas was not a good restaurant for a large number of people (I think we had 15 or so though). They have larger booths at the back, so our party was stuck in three booths at the very back of the restaurant. The food was still good, but the seating arrangement would've been better elsewhere.

You might not get a big round table but if you call and make the reservation for eleven, you will probably be told that you have several tables. Have the reservation linked in the system and you have a 99.9999999999999999% chance of sitting all together. You'll be told that it's not guaranteed that your party will be seated together but I have never had any problems with our needs being accommodated.

We had a party of 12 just a few weeks ago....we ate at....

Tusker House...all together. Make sure you tell them you want it this way. They CAN move tables together.

Crystal Palace...separated.

Biergarten...separated.

Ohana...together.

Brown Derby...separated.

You may want to ask when making ADR's if you'll be seated together. They usually know if you are NOT but may not be able to tell you if they will be together. You can call the restaurant directly and ask as well...tell them it is a special occassion and you want to be all together.

Does anyone know if a party of 10 can sit together at Chef Mickeys and Princess Storybook Breakfast?

Citrico's is the BEST place to eat with a large group...they have a private dining room (no extra charge) which was great for our party, which included 4 little kids.

They closed the doors to the room (glass) and we still felt connected to the restaurant, but we were all together and could let the kids wander around the table while waiting for food.

California Grill was also able to seat us together.

I just called for ADR's for 11 as well and the only place that could seat 11 was WCC. HOWEVER, I would've had to wait until 9:30 PM!! No thanks! The rest of the restaurants we booked couldn't accommodate us all together. The CM taking my ADR's was very good about telling me what was possible and what wasn't. He seemed to have good seating info in front of him. Here's what we got:

Biergarten (nope)
Sci Fi (nope)
Liberty Tree Tavern (nope
Whispering Canyon (could've had it if we'd waited until 9:40 PM to eat!)
Le Cellier (nope)
(Crystal Palace (nope; although we did see a large party seated close together last week and they were SO close together, they might as well have been at the same table!!!)

We don't mind splitting up. We're coming from 2 different states and don't see each other very often so it'll be fun to catch up......

Few places will be able to accommodate 11 people at one table. For instance, the Biergarten and Teppan Edo only seat 8 per table. The Sci-Fi Drive In only seats 4-5 ... the cars are small.

jpeka65844: you couldn't get anything for the end of May even splitting up? Wow. Did you call Grand Gatherings or the regular number. I noticed that the Grand Gathers people were much better at dealing with big groups.

We are going end of April and everyone will be together over the holidays so we will make final plans then. Looks like there will be at least 5 days where everyone is there so we should have some flexibility in dates and times.

It sounds like WCC will work, and since we are staying at Wilderness Lodge, it makes it all the better!

Princess breakfast does not accomodate that many. We're a party of 10 and called for ADRs at 180 days and had no problem getting the times we wanted to sit all together at WCC, 1900 Park fare, 50's PTC and Ohana. We were told at Crystal Palace, H&V and the Princess breakfast that they just don't have tables big enough.

We were a party of 12 our last visit. When I made ressies probably 4 of the nine restaurant's said we would be seated at more than 1 table. we ended up being seated together at 8 of the 9.

Cinderella's Gala Feast at the GF (Party of 17)
Le Cellier
Boma
Ohana
San Angel Inn (Party of 17)
Spoodles
Capt n Jack's
Mama Melrose

2 seperate tables next to each other at Chef Mickey's (Party of 17.)

Is the Princess storybook breakfast/dinner at Akershus? We ate there at one table for 10 in 2006.
