I am having an Escape wedding at the WP. Would love to do a buffet dinner for my guests that night. Probably about 20 of us. Is this possible?

What other affordable options are there for a small dinner or lunch?

Thank!

We had a farewell brunch at 1900 Park Fare. The only trick was the whole party had to be there before they would seat you. I really enjoyed it.

I would say it's definitely possible!

You would have to go through Group Dining however and you would have to make your ADR for either the first dinner time or the last...

ie. We did a group breakfast at Crystal Palace the morning after the wedding for 20 and we had to either do it at 8:05am or 10:10am. We went for the later time so our guests could sleep in. Then that night we had a dinner for 19 at Biergarten (this meal guests paid for themselves but pretty much everyone came) which I also booked through Group Dining. We had to make it that one for 7:30pm. (I can't remember the earlier time the offered)...

The Biergarten is ALOT of fun! Especially if you have adults in your party. I would also suggest trying Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary if you can't get 1900 PF. We are having a breakfast there the day after the wedding.

We have a ressie at 1900 Park Fare for our welcome dinner for 30 people. We had to call the restaurant directly, not the regular ADR # or group reservations. I had to leave a message and they called me back. For large parties they make you take the first seating which is at 4:30pm. At first they said they were booked & couldn't do it. Then I begged a little stating I was having a Disney vow renewal and we were staying at the GF and this was our welcome party. Suddenly they could do it. They split the reservation & gave me 2 confirmation #'s. They needed the amount of kids and all their ages too.

Keep in mind I also called Chef Mickey's and they told me large parties can only be seated at the last service, I believe 9pm or 9:30pm. We have too many kids in our party so we declined. Ohana was booked too and wouldn't budge. I called both of them directly.

We are unsure where to have a meal after our wedding, there are only 10 of us plus a 2 year old so don't want to pay for private dining...we did consider The Wave, then going over to watch the fireworks on the beach.

We have only the disney dining phone numbers, can you let me know the number of the 1900 Park Fare and Chef Mickey so I can speak to them directly? We are not lovers of fish, so somewhere like the Flying Fish is no good for us.......wot to do?:confused3

With a party of 10 you can call the regular ADR #. It's only when you have 15 or more that you have to call them directly.

Many thanks - will do once 180 days arrive - which I believe is next month, by then I may have chosen which one is best - maybe!! :rotfl2:

We have decided to so the same thing. We are getting married at the WP in December 2010 and have 20 people in our party. The cost it would be to have a sit down dinner we decided to take that budget and split that in half and take our party to the GF 1900 Park Fare and I am going to ask for the 1st sitting, 4:30pm, as I am hoping to have a noon time wedding, then pictures, cake cutting and champagne toast, more pictures in the lobby as it will be all decorated for the holidays, then dinner. The other half of our budget for dining we decided to treat everyone the next night to Mickey's Merry Christmas Party. Everyone in our family are very happy. This works for our budget.

Really?? I got a party of 30 booked at Ohana at 1st seating 5pm, with no problems. My planner booked it for me. I'm having an escape wedding (planners normally dont get involved with reception dinners) but I just asked her to do it. she didnt seem to mind. I guess they are really slowing down over at DFTW.
