I have ADRs at rose and crown on May 25 at 7:50 at night. Is this a good time to possibly get a seat outside or do you think that I should make it earlier or later? Anyone who has gone to this restaurant, please give me some info if possible.
How is the food? :wave2:

We did this last year, and I made an ADR for 7:20. I think your time may be a little late because by that time, anyone who has intentions of watching Illuminations will already be seated...and they will not leave. We requested a table on the patio for viewing as did the couple behind us(at check in). Both of us got seated on the terrace thingy on the side of the restaurant. We couldn't have seen the show well from where we were seated, but it was a nice table and at showtime the CM escorted us to the lower patio area(this is common practice). We had a great time!

OH....as far as the food goes, we were all very pleased. I loved the Bangers and Mash and I don't remember what the rest of them had, but no one was unhappy. We were, however, disappointed somewhat in the Sticky Toffee Pudding....this stuff is way overrated, IMO.

We've had 7:50 reservations for a table of 2 twice in hopes of having dinner & viewing Illuminations. Be sure and arrive about 10-15 minutes early. It worked out perfect the first time. The second time the restaurant was really crowded, and we were not seated until almost 8:10 PM.

We were in the middle of eating when Illuminations started that second time. However, our waiter did a great job of keeping everything warm for us while we went down to the special VIP viewing area they have there for patrons. After finishing dinner around 9:45, it made for a nice, quiet walk exiting the park.

The food is great. Love the cream of potato & leeks soup, bread, cottage pie, and chicken pastries. The chocolate Guinness cake is great for dessert. The ambience in the pub is great, and makes you really feel like you're in England. Love the British pub pianist player too!

Sitting outside is not guaranteed. Once we were lucky enough to sit outside and watch Illuminations, other times we've had to sit inside. But if you do sit inside, they will walk you outside to watch. You can leave your food and come back and have desert or finish eating. Enjoy!

Does Illuminations take place @ 9:30pm every night ALL year long, or is it 9pm during non peak times?

TIA

Hi,
I think that it starts at 9:00 every night. Unless they have changed it.
Thank you all for your help!!
