Dinner at DTD, then Fantasmic?

Our flight arrives at MCO at 2:30 on 8/17 (a Tuesday). We are taking DME to POP for check-in. Assuming things go smoothly (i.e., average travel, check in, etc), do you think we will be able to get from the airport, checked into POP, take the bus over to DTD, have supper at Wolfgang Puck Express, and then get over to DHS in time for Fantasmic at 9pm (so we should be into DHS by 8pm)?

We are not big fans of the counter service available at DHS and will not have park hoppers. I'm open to other suggestions for cs dinner (on the free DP), besides Puck's or POP that will still get us to DHS in time for Fantasmic. Suggestions??

PS- Posted this on Transportation Board as I think the plan is subject to DME and bus schedules; please move if it's more appropriate on the Resorts or Restaurant Boards!

I think that it is doable. If you get to your resort at the latest 4:00, then get to DTD by 6:00,(1 hour for check -in etc, and 1 hr for travel). THen you'll have an hour to eat, which I think that is plenty of time. Then if you give yourself an hour to get to HS (from 7-8) you should be go to go.

If you are going to DHS anyway, have you thought about trying to get a "Dinner & Show" package? You wouldn't have as much travel time & you could get reserved seating for Fantasmic. We don't care much for the CS meals at the Studios either, but we like the TS meals.

Your plan is do-able if, as you say, things go smoothly. If your time starts getting backed up, you could plan to just spend the evening at DTD. Keep in mind that the buses at DTD don't go to the parks, just the resorts. So you would likely take the Boardwalk Inn bus and walk or boat over to DHS.

Wolfgang Puck Express is a great choice for CS at DTD. So is Earl of Sandwich. I don't care for the CS places at DHS, for the most part. I do like Starring Rolls and their Sandwiches are good.

As an alternate, I could suggest after you check in, take the bus to DHS. Out front there are boats that take you over to the Boardwalk and Swan/Dolphin. I know there aren't DDP CS items there, but there are Sandwiches at Boardwalk Bakery, there is a Pizza window there, Boardwalk to Go has Hot Dogs and Grilled Chicken. This might be an unplanned food expense for you, but it frees up those CS credits to use later. You could enjoy the atmosphere, then take the boat back to DHS.

I didn't realize that busses from DTD don't go to the parks- that's a vital piece of information! We would go to BWI and take the boat to DHS; it's a really nice trip.

Off-site park visitors were parking at DTD (for free) instead of paying for parking at the park lots. The DTD lot would be full for those who really wanted to go there. That is why it was changed.

You could take the boat ride from DTD to POR/POFQ and catch their bus to DHS. That is a nice boat ride, too.

You 'should' be at POP and checked in by 4:30...and that is on the longish side. It will probably be all done by 4, but just to be on the safe side, figure 4:30. Take the bus to DTD, eat at WPE, but the one in the Marketplace, not over by Cirque!! Then, take the bus that heads to YC/BC, S/D or BW.....whichever bus you see first. The S/D bus may actually be the quickest bus since the bus usually stops at the Swan first and you can hop off there and walk (or boat) over to DHS. If you get to the dock area (you will walk right past it when walking to DHS) and you see the boat either at the dock or just coming in, then take it. DHS will be the next stop. The walk will take about 15-18 mins, boat will take about 13-15 once the boat leaves.

You should be able to accomplish this with no trouble. But, if it were me, I would just stay and eat at POP. I really enjoy their food court..they have some pretty decent offerings. Then, you could get unpacked and settled in before heading to DHS for the evening.
