We ADORE Jiko and are planning a meal here. We are also considering Boma. DH isn't terribly adventurous but I've heard good things so I'm wondering if you would do Jiko AND Boma on the same trip?

No, we aren't staying at AKL. We will be driving to the Lodge for both meals.
We would not be replacing Boma with another meal.

Thoughts?

We loved our meal there. The quality is quite good and the selection is broad. Your hubby should find plenty there to enjoy.

I highly recommend the soup buffet. It all homemade non standard fare. I'm not a soup lover per se, but found these offerings to be wonderful.

We thought Boma was terrific, but we're pretty adventurous diners as are our kids. I would put it on the top of our list for our next trip. Despite the fact that our kids were more illbehaved during this meal than at any other time during our week, we still had a great time and really enjoyed the food. I agree with a pp about the soup. Yummy in my tummy. The service was also the best we had all week. Our server was from East Africa and was very happy to tell us about all the dishes and make recommendations--this without even asking. Give it a try and enjoy!

My son is a very picky eater and he liked Boma. He loved the prime rib and the zebra domes.

I would classify my DH as a picky eater, and Boma is his favorite place to eat in all of WDW. It has a wonderful selection of food! :thumbsup2

We are going to do both Jiko and Boma for our Oct trip...we will be staying at the AKL so I figured this would be easiest. Never been to either but have heard rave reviews about both and they both seem to have very different menus.

We ate at both last month. It was our first time at Boma and our 4th at Jiko. We loved them both. We had some very picky eaters and a vegetarian in our group and everyone was happy at both places.

because you have an opportunity to taste a variety of new flavors. There won't be the same entrees as Jiko but you may find flavors to try there or at other restaurants.

Of course I am the sort of person who, given the chance, will order a tasting menu or ask the kitchen to just prepare something.

Boma is awesome :goodvibes. I have to agree with a pp....the prime rib is out of this world :thumbsup2.

We've been to both. None of us liked Boma but it gets good reviews on here. Jiko is one of my top 5 restaurants at Disney. We were seated in a wine room and it was quiet and peaceful. The food was delicious. Also, the warm towels they give you are a nice treat for someone like me who always has cold hands! :)

Thanks for all the input! We've decided to try both. We're going to do Boma on our AK day before a night out at AC and then do Jiko on our resort hopping day.

I'm excited. I've never had a zebra dome!

I'd love to have Jiko & Boma in the same trip! We haven't made it to Jiko yet, but I think the filet w/mac & cheese looks great!

DH INHALED his and said it was the best filet he had all trip. I had the scallops and they were the largest and best I have ever eaten in my life. The pap cake and tomato sauce were so good that I still dream about it.

I highly recommend Jiko!

Boma is fabulous and if you like Jiko I am sure you will enjoy Boma as well. The only problem we ever have there is sampling all of the food before we explode.:rotfl2:
