Don't know about anyone else but our dinner experience at Be Our Guest was not good. The "rack of lamb" was severely undercooked and placed in front of us within 5 minutes of ordering. This would obviously mean that the food is pre-prepared and simply microwaved before serving. Not good quality at all. In addition, our server was waiting on way too many tables and it seemed like we were alternatively being ignored and then rushed.

Lunch is a far better experience at this restaurant. Get yourself a lunch FP and you will have a good meal. Dinner is not worth the hassle of getting a reservation.

I'll 2nd that review - we had two meals there and will not return. The food was bland and cold, likely as a result of waiting a very long time for service. We were very disappointed by "Be Our Guest"
Also be aware that the wait out in the sun can be rough as there is no shade.

We just ate there last Sat. and I sadly would agree.

We were not even half way done with our appetizers and they brought the food out. Our server asked the food runners to take it back.

Our server seemed overwhelmed with the tables she had too. We did wait a while for drink refills.

We did linger a little bit after the meal to talk about the evening plan. She seemed to be watching over us like a hawk and as soon as we all finally got up she just swooped over to our table etc.

Seems like the motto there is pack em in and push em out.

It was not the first time we have eaten there. I think next time we will try lunch instead.

Our food was good however and my one ds loved the veg option for dinner.

:hippie:I was just very disappointed because we couldn't get a reservation. Reading the reviews I am okay with no finding a table.

We had the same lackluster meal back in September, will not be returning.

I made a post about the same experience a while back. Definitely not up to the hype of this place. Would not return.

I liked dinner at Be Our Guest, but next time we're going to have lunch instead. DH ordered the pork chop and it was brought to the table practically raw, really bloody. No problem sending it back and it was returned cooked a few minutes later. I liked the steak but it wasn't anything special. This was on March 4, 2014. We had dinner at BOG last September also, DH liked the steak and I had the puff pastry with scallops and shrimp, rubbery shrimp! Anyway, I think you're paying more for the experience than for the actual food. The french fries are a real disappointment, they taste like the Ore Ida frozen potatoes.

We had great service, but the food was not so memorable. Not accounting for the beautiful theming of the restaurant, there are better places to dine at MK.

Sorry to hear the bad reviews. We just booked dinner there in August. I'm excited to just get in and see the place so if the meal is only so-so, I won't be overly disappointed.

Any tips on specific menu items that people enjoyed even if the overall experience wasn't great?

Dinner at Be Our Guest April 2014, with friends and all our children. LOVED it. Food was wonderful but service was a bit slow. TIP: After dinner, ask your server if you could please try the "Gray Stuff". A secret dessert not on the menu. If asked, the server will bring it out. So much fun. Enjoy!!!

We ate there in November 2012 not long after it opened and we loved it - food and service were great! We returned in November 2013 and while we were happy with our food, we certainly felt rushed. The server asked for our drink orders and we told her we knew what we wanted if she just wanted to take our dinner orders as well - big mistake! We ordered an appetizer, drinks and dinner. She brought the non-alcoholic drinks and said she'd be back with the beer and wine we ordered. A few minutes later all of the entrees came out - still no appetizer and no beer and wine. When she did return with the beer and wine she looked shocked that our food had arrived. They did eventually bring the appetizer as well but didn't charge us for it. Hopefully they'll eventually get it all straightened out!

It was a "one and done" for us also. Huge and loud dining area. The tables and chairs packed in. Our waiter ran the rolling dessert tray into my elbow/arm twice while going to other tables. Steak was OK, my wife had the chicken breast, after the first bite, she wished she had ordered the steak... Well played, Disney hype machine!

DisneySteve, our experience could have been more different than the OP's. We had a lovely time at BOG!

Thanks. As with most places, there are always going to be mixed reviews. We're generally not all that hard to please, and I'm excited just to get in and see the place. I'm sure we'll be fine.

The Grey Stuff isn't
a secret anymore, it's on the menu lunch and dinner. Lunch is a cupcake and dinner it's on a brownie.

We were at BOG two nights ago. The service was excellent. On par with the service at Citricos. Our waiter reminded me of an old school professional waiter, not a run of the mill server. DH had the lamb which he reported as mediocre. He said it was a bit overdone and on the tough side. I had the shrimp and scallops in puff pastry. I enjoyed the pastry and sauce, although the seafood was a bit rubbery. The potato leek soup was very nice. The French onion soup, on the other hand, was unbearably salty. The "grey stuff" was essentially like a sweet buttercream cupcake frosting. I'm glad we dined there, but I would no longer check obsessively for an ADR for months (like I did).

DisneySteve,
Like you, we keep our expectations reasonable at these kinds of places. FWIW, my mom and stepdad also had dinner there week before last and had a wonderful experience. The detail in the restaurant is amazing! We really enjoyed the beet salad (as did my mom just recently) that is part of the trio. The steak, the pommes frites, and the cream puff were all terrific. Enjoy!

I had wanted to make a dining review for Be Our Guest and call it in defense of Be Our Guest. I went to dinner and a fast pass lunch in December. We requested seating in the west wing and was seated in the west wing. Dinner service was good. The waitress was friendly, gave attentive service and even offered to take photos of me and my daughter. I had potato leek soup for my appetizer, steak and fries for my entree and the grey stuff on the chocolate cookie for dessert. All the food was hot and fresh. The beast made a brief appearance in the west wing. After dinner we were able to explore the other dining rooms and then had a meet and greet with the beast. The following day we went for our fast pass, preordered lunch. I had the roasted pork over mashed potatoes and liked it very much. For dessert I had the masters cupcake. Which is the grey stuff in a chocolate cupcake. I liked both versions of the dessert but may have liked the cupcake just a little bit more. I look forward to enjoying more meals here in the future. Sorry not everyone appears to enjoy their meal here.
