Dinner at 1900 PF: Too Girly for Little Boys????

Help! I'm trying to finalize ADRs for our May trip. My kids seem more excited about meeting characters and getting autographs than anything, so I've already booked meals at Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. Does anyone have input about doing Park Fare with boys??? My little guys will be 2 1/2 and 5 at the time of the trip. They would much rather dine with a Power Ranger than a princess, if you know what I mean.

The food selection looks good at Park Fare, and I'd like to visit the Grand Floridian during our stay b/c I love it there. Would dinner at PF be a bust with boys? Are there any characters that would appeal to boys there? They think Cinderella is "yuck-GIRL!", but it looks like Prince Charming is there with some mice... I'd love to hear from the experts on this board.

We have eaten there with our two boys. One is 5 (he was 4 when we ate there for dinner) and the other was 2 months (to young to know what was going on at the time. My 5 year old enjoyed it. Prince Charming took a long time with him and the place was packed. I don't know if he always does that with the boys because of all the other girly characters or not. However, my ds did enjoy it. We were there, however, with some friends that had 3 children of there own so my ds had other entertainment than just the characters. He is one of those boys that says he will not have anything to do with anything pink. He is very much a true boy.

We enjoyed it and the food was the best of any character meal buffet I have had at Disney (I have done all of them). I would recommend it but once again, we did have other friends with us to entertain when all of the girl characters were coming around.

We went last September with 9 year old son and 1 and half year old son. We pre-ordered special desserts-the glass slipper and dog bones. My 9 year old really liked it which really surprised us The atmosphere is nice and the boys really liked suzy and perla who were so funny and prince charming. They took a pic with cinderella and i think my 9 year old was a little embarassed but other than that, he is asking to do this restaurant again...the food was very good-don't miss the strawberry soup! Its also nice to take the monarail there and look around at the grand floridian-very nice gift shop!

Definately not too girly, imho.
We took my son there for his 12th birthday. He loved it.
The carousel animals and decor are nice. It's not girly at all.
I'd recommend going.

My ds (5) loves 1900 Park Fare. We've been there twice for dinner and three times for breakfast. He likes Prince Charming (he actually likes Cinderella and the mice too) and this is the only place he's ever seen him, other than the parade. At breakfast he just is crazy about the Mad Hatter!

They'll be fine. 5 isn't quite old enough for the Get Rid Of Slimy girlS stage.

5 is more of a mild awww where are the power rangers stage. But once the characters come out, that will be over.

About the desserts: I believe the glass slipper was 14 and the dog bones were 10. I don't have the number but if you call wdw dining they can give you the phone number for the grand floridian bakery. Have you seen a pic on the dis of the glass slipper? Beautiful!!! Everyone around us was asking where could they get one But it is only available as a pre-order. If you haven't seen a pic, try doing a search for the chocalate slipper dessert or the dog bones.....Hope this helps!!!

We ate there last month with DD11 & DS7.

DS7 had a great time there....he really enjoyed Suzy & Perla. Had a great time. He is "all boy" but does not mind dining with princesses. He loves the food, atmosphere, etc. of all the character meals!

It all depends on the little boy. My brother was 7 when we ate at Cinderella's castle and he ran away from her when she went to kiss him. He calls that the biggest regret of his life now.

In the end, the Princesses know how to act with little boys and there's a lot of fun to be had interacting with the characters. If you're really worried, just make sure that you build in times to do stuff with Buzz and Woody.
