I would like to hop over to MGM for fantasmic. In the past I have always done the dining package. This time I am eating at Cape May cafe at 5:30 and would like to make it to see fantasmic at 8:30. Will I have enough time to get there and actually get a seat?? This will be on April 4th, 2006

Its safe to say that if you get to Fantasmic! an hour or so before the show, you will be fine.

So, assuming you will be seated at Cape May within a few minutes of your ressie, (its a buffet, so "no waiting to be served") you will have a full hour to (over-) eat ;)
and then about 20-25 minutes for the boat-ride to MGM
and 10-15 minutes to walk all the way into the Fantasmic! theater.

Even if you are a bit slower, or have to wait for a boat, you'll have PLENTY of time before the show and you should be GREAT for seating.

Just don't try this in January, when Fantasmic is presented an hour earlier -- there is practically no way to eat dinner at the BC and get to Fantasmic in time, then.

Sound doo-able....hopefully the lines aren't too long this time of year and I can get a decent seat :-)

Sounds like you shouldn't have any problem. Unless your party is particularly slow eaters, you should be able to make it there with little problem.

Hmmmm, I just made an ADR for YCGalley for 6pm. on a day when there are two Fantasmics 7:00 and 8:30. I read on the board that the theater wouldn't open up for seating until 8pm in this senario.... do you think people will be lining up way before outside of the theater? I am doing this March 4 which is ESPN weekend at MGM. ?? :scratchin

I'd move the ressie to 5:00pm or so... you'll be less "hurried".
Yes, they do line up before the second show, but if you are there (at the end of that line) by 7:30ish, you'll likely find pretty good seats in the theater.

Here's my estimation:
Arrive early for ressie by 4:45pm
Seated (for sure) @ YCGalley by 5:15pm
Food served by 5:40pm
End of Meal by 6:20pm
Boat to MGM depart 6:40pm
Arrive at MGM front gate 7:10pm
In Line for Fantasmic! 7:30pm
