Dinner @ AKL how to get back to resort?

AK closes @ 6pm and I have a 8:40pm reservation @ Boma. After dinner will I be able to take bus back to AK then the bus to my resort? If not, is there some other way using Disney transportation?

There will not be any buses from AKL to AK 3+ hours after the park closes (guessing your dinner won't even be done until 4+ hours after park closing).

I recommend taking a cab. If not, you could get a bus to a park that is still open and then transfer to your resort bus there, but that sounds like much more hassle than I would be willing to do at 10:00 at night after eating a big meal!

We took the bus back to Epcot the night we ate at Boma, then hopped the bus back to our resort.

It isn't that big a deal. Easiest thing to do is get on the first bus that comes to Boma, then transfer to your resort once you get to that park.

Easy, peasy.

You can also take a bus to DTD.

What resort are you staying at? If there is a park open late that is near your resort that would be the best one to take.

Taking a bus to a park that is still open, then a bus to your resort is far better than transferring via Downtown Disney. If Downtown Disney was the only option to me I would pay for a cab instead. We had earlier dinner reservations at Boma twice last year. The first time it was easy to catch a bus to MK from AKL, then we caught the ferry to the Poly. That worked extremely well. The second trip it was EMH late at DHS. We caught that bus, then got on the boat to BWI, also very easy.

I will be staying at CSR, Animal Kingdom being the nearest park. The only park open late that day is MK with closing time of 10pm

I recommend taking a cab if at all possible. That's what we did on our trip last year. We were staying at CBR and had a late dinner at Boma and we just went up to the valet area outside the lobby and said we needed a cab and one of the valets called a cab over and we had a very nice, relaxing ride back without having to wait for a bus and then change to another bus, etc. It was definitely one of the best $20 I spent during the trip!
