Dining without PS?

Do you ever just go and wing it at a disney resort restaurant? I tried making a couple of last minute PS's for our upcoming trip, but of course, everything was full for the nights that we wanted to go.

We were hoping to go the Chef Mickeys (the only place we could agree on!) and from experience, I know that place can be a nut show....And, being 2 grown adults with no kids, just the two of us, what do you think the odds are that we could go and get a table on a sunday night? What if we went around 8:30 - 9:00?

Any advice???

sunday night is EMH for the MK - so no - don't think you could get one that night.

We've managed only one ADR for our December trip to date. I keep trying back for one or two others, but I think we're just going to plan to to have a good meal off property every two or three days.

We have 3 adults and one child--can't agree on where or when and don't want to be tied to too many ADRs!

There was a great thread going on in the restaurant portion of these boards about favorite snacks! We realized we've concentrated so much on the sit down meals, that we've sure missed out on alot of other (and much cheaper) places to try. We're actually thinking on 'winging it' on our upcoming december trip and 'grazing through the lands'.

When I go solo, I like to make an ADR or two but concentrate on CS places, so I can go with the flow and make decisions on the spur of the moment. Also, when I just make 1 or 2 ADRs, they seem more special than if I ate only at sit down places. I feel like I am pampering myself. If you really want to go to Chef Mickey's just keep calling, there might be a cancellation.
