Dining with view of monorail?

It is my first visit to Disney in MANY years (think 1980) My 4 year old son would like to eat in the Contemporary motel with a view of the monorail. Do any restaurants fit that discription? My son loves any types of trains and the monorail is what he is most excited about.

Chef Mickey's and Concourse Steakhouse are next to the monorail track. You can actually see the monorail come in and out if you look up.

I'd go with Chef Mickey's considering that it's a character buffet as well. Where are you staying? When we were at AKL last year we took the bus to MK and then rode the monorail to the Contemporary so the kids could experience the ride. If you're willing to wait a few minutes (probably better to do this coming from dinner) the driver can put you up front for the ride.

If I remember correctly only part of Chef Mickey's has a view of the monorail track. If it is really important, I am sure that the host/hostess will seat you at the next available table in that area but there are no guarantees.

We are staying at ASMO. He would love to ride up front on the monorail! Tahnks for the tip. Does most of the seating in the Concourse Steakhouse have a monorail view or do I need to request a certain area? We are doing character meals a couple of other days.

I cannot think of any seating at Concourse Steakhouse that would not give a great view of the monorail. To be certain, I would mention your request to the CM when checking in.

We often eat breakfast at this restaurant and love to watch the monorails coming and going. I think your son would love it.

Most of the Concourse has decent to excellant views of the monorail. There are some tables (furthest from the hallway) that do not have a view.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I made our PS reservations to Concourse steakhouse and my son is soooo excited! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

My DDs were 4 1/2 yrs and 22 mos on our last trip to WDW, and they loved the Concourse Steakhouse. The rainbow bread for the sanwiches was a big hit. Also, make sure you get your DS a Painter's Pallet for dessert. It is a Mickey shaped cookie served with 3 paints (icing), sprinkles and a paintbrush (like you would get in a watercolor kit). The kids get to decorate, then eat their dessert. One of those great rulebreakers, can only happen at WDW treats since the rules in most households include "don't play with your food."
