Can anyone give me information on the dining with Shamu. Trying to decide if we should head back to Disney for dinner or dine with Shamu.

What kind of food? Is it any good? Is there a show? How much? What is the seating like? What about weather conditions?

THANKS!!

Food is not as good as elementary school cafeteria food. In fact, the kids seemed to get better choices than the adults. But the show was fun. Tables surround the lagoon area on one side. Tables right up next to the rail, hold 4-6-8 people. Then another row of tables behind them. Everyone has a good view. The tables are under cover. The lagoon is not. I don't know if they cancel for weather or not.

I just returned from Sea World. We had a table next to the water and had a great view. The "whale" was not very cooperative. She was more interested in the other whales that were in another holding area. The food was ok...I agree that the kids had a better choice. My husband went back for seconds and ate off the kids menu. The desserts were good. We had a really good time. We ate at 7:30pm on July 22 and it was not that hot. The area is well covered.

I was wondering how the buffet line works? Can kids and adults eat from each others selections? Do they give you a hard time about it? Also, I remember awhile back seeing a complete buffet menu for adults and kids for. Does anyone have a link to that menu? I have searched and have found nothing. Thanks!

The buffet line is just that -- a buffet line. It was actually kind of crowded since it is in a somewhat small area. It was my observation that the kid section and the adult section were pretty much interchangeable, in that I did not see anyone enforcing that either one group (kids or adults) eat from only one section.

How much does this cost? Can you request a table right by the water? Do the whales come up to the table? Did you feel it was worth it for the whale, seeing as the food wasn't that good! Also when do you need to make a reservation! Thanks in advance!

You are assigned a table based on when you made your reservation. There are at least two rows of tables, so none are very far from the edge of the lagoon. Yes, the whales do come right up to your table. You also may get very wet during the show.

I purchased my tickets online at Seaworld.com for Dinner with Shamu. By doing this, I don't have to be at the ressie desk by noon to pay and confirm my ressie. This works out great since we are coming back from a Disney Cruise that day and have to drive up from Port Canaveral and then check in at the Hard Rock Hotel. I wasn't sure if we'd make it there by noon. I was told if we weren't there, they could give our seats away if they needed to.

I'm figuring that the food won't be that great, because it's the show and being that close up to Shamu that is what's drawing people. If the food is ok, then I'll be happy.

What is the cost for this dinner and is a 12 year old charged as an adult? Thank you.

Here is some info from Seaworld's web site regarding the price question.

You're invited to Dine With Shamu and enjoy a scrumptious all-you-can-eat buffet with SeaWorld's biggest star! As a guest, you'll eat at a reserved table alongside our killer whale habitat in an area restricted to our trainers, animal care specialists and YOU - our V.I.P. Guests. Trainers may join you, and Shamu will be there to show off. Prices are $32 for adults, $18 for children ages 3-9; children under 3 are free but require a reservation. A SeaWorld admission ticket is required but not included.

I agree with everyone else that the adult portion of the buffet had alot to be desired. The best part about the buffet were the killer whale shaped butter cookies.
I guess you are not really paying for the food but for the chance to be that close to the whales. We did get great pictures.

We have this booked for late October - anyone have any idea what time it will be at ? The website says it changes according to opening hours.
