Dining with a 2 Year Old

I was wondering if someone could answer this for me.
We are planning on going in Oct our son will be 2.
Does Disney usually charge for a 2 year old at buffets or any sit down meals?
Would we have to pay for him if we purchased the dining plan?

Sit Downs- If the child eats off your plate, there is no charge. If you order them a kid's meal, you pay the regular cost.

As far as buffets, I *think* under 3's are free, but I am not 100% sure. I would ask at the time of ADR.

As far as Disney Dining Plan, if you look at the main page of the Restaurants Board, there is a DDP subboard where I am sure someone would know that answer.

As the poster above stated, if you purchase a meal for your 2yo at a full-service restaurant, you will be charged for the meal. Children UNDER age 3 (as in, 2 or younger), eat free at any buffets or all-you-care-to-eat meals.

With the dining plan, you will not be charged for your 2yo as part of your package. But again, if you choose to order them something off of the kids menu, you will be charged cash (and you certainly don't want to use an adult meal credit for a child's meal...it would be a waste of the money you spent). What you could do is order your child the appetizer that comes as part of your meal on the dining plan, and order the entree for yourself (at full-service restaurants, only...no appetizers at the counter-service).
