dining vs no dining

I agree w/ others. Financially, it will depend on your family's eating habits. The more you eat, the more you save.

But don't confuse ADRs with DDP as some previous poster have implied. Some enjoy ADRs for lunch or dinner whether on the DDP or not.

I crunched the numbers for my family (mom, dad and DS12 and DS 14) and found it cheaper to pay OOP. Here's why: we all pay the adult price for the DDP but the boys and my wife don't eat that much. And as is typical with kids, I would hate to have pre-paid for the many, many times that my sons just aren't hungry when it's time to eat...but they want a snack 20 minutes later...

Also, we have learned through many summer vacations (to WDW and elsewhere) that we just don't eat as much when we are hot and busy. Even though I like to have an ADR for lunch, to take a break, sit, relax in the cool A/C, we may find that we are not that hungry. We often split an entree or two and an appetizer or two...paying OOP gives us total flexibility. Then, we enjoy a snack or two between meals...to be able to sample more of the food choices available in the world.
