What are the pros and cons to the early or late dinning times. Are there less families with children at the late dinning time?

thanks

Definitely less kids at late seating. If this is not a problem
it is also better if you are doing shore excursions, you would
have more time at port and not have to worry about rushing
back to change for dinner. Any shows you watch will be at
630pm.

Yes, there are fewer kids at late seating, but that doesn't mean you won't have kids at your table. A couple of weeks ago I had late seating and as an adult travelling solo I was seated at a table for ten with two families and five kids of varying ages. It was okay but NOT my preference. I do like attending the early shows. I don't like finishing dinner at 10 or 10:30 at night. There are pros and cons to early or late.

We are going to try late dining this cruise. We've have always had early dining times and hated that rushed feeling getting ready for the early dinner. Port days are especially bad. But we wanted the kids to eat early. This year we are going to try late dining, our youngest child is 10, so we think this may work out better than early. Now the teens are worried about missing activities at Common Grounds so we'll have to see... We tend to stay up later and sleep in while cruising. So dining til 10pm won't be too bad.

I know when we went on our first cruise last Halloween..we had the early sitting for dinner..and my poor little girl ( who was only 2 didn't even make it through dinner she was soooooo exhausted!) great photos though..lol...but I really like going to the shows at 8pm..rather than at 6pm..I guess it's just more appropos. Anyway.....having the early seating and then staying up really late gives you a great excuse to head off to deck nine for either ice cream or pizza...or even order from room service! YAY! When we went again in January..we changed our seating from late to early...mostly for the baby's sake. but in November we are off again..and I STILL chose the early. Which ever you choose...ENJOY!

I noticed you're from California, so I wanted to remind you of the difference in time zones.

You'll be eating according to the ship's time, which is in the Eastern Time Zone, at least on embarkation. Many cruisers from the West Coast have said that it felt like they would be eating at 2pm if they had the early dinner seating at 6pm EST.

hope that helps

Al

you bring up a valid point on the time zone issue.

thanks to you and all
