We have the Dining Plan, free, from October 2-7, checking out the 8th. This is the first time we've had the plan. I have researched places that either offer buffets or some form of the wonderful potato. (My seven year-old is very picky.) We should be checked in by 3:30 on the 2nd, so I thought that after pool time, we could have dinner away from our resort, CBR. On park days, I don't plan to leave that park for dinner.

1. Any suggestions for that first dinner? Maybe Chef Mickey's--somewhere fun for the girls, ages seven and ten, with good food for the adults?

2. We'll most likely do the MK for two days. I have Liberty Tree down, but can anyone recommend another TS restaurant there?

Thanks so much for your help.

Definately Crystal palace.....
Liberty tree tavern is just so so in my book. Mostly tasted like stouffers frozen cusine in my opinion.
Crystal palace is so much better!
Most buffets offer child friendly fare so as long as your son eats mac and cheese or chicken nuggets as well as fries he should be good.
Chef Mickeys has a nice ice cream bar but have heard so so reviews of the dinner fare for adults.
Maybe planet hollywood in downtown disney or Boma at AKL would be nice too.

Thanks, Kat. She won't eat any meat except turkey bacon. I'm hoping that she'll expand her horizons before October. She FINALLY tried a baked potato a few days ago, which I think, rounds out all the ways a potato can be fixed for her. :-)

1st time I have ever seen anyone recommend Planet Hollywood besides me. My family LOVES that place. Looks like were going around the same time. Maybe we'll see ya there. :thumbsup2

To the OP: I will second the vote for Crystal Palace. We had dinner there last year and the food was very good. Great selection and great character interaction. My kids want to go again and they are not big Pooh fans. I have not been to Liberty Tree so I can't compare. Another idea might be to try Chef Mickeys or Ohana on your MK day since they are only a short monorail ride away.

Personally, I love Liberty Tree tavern. We went there for the first time on our last visit in 2007. Granted, we were quite hungry when we went there, but it was yummy!!
Also, California Grill and Ohana's for an MK visit as well. You have a nice view of MK from either. Plus a ride on the monorail is fun for any kid (and grownup)!!

Our order of preference AT the MK (this does not include restaurants on the monorail)

Crystal Palace for breakfast
Plaza Restaurant -- change of pace from all the heavy meals we eat all week (soups, salads, sandwiches, shakes and awesome desserts)
Tony's for lunch
Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch

I would recommend either the Crystal Palace or the Kona Cafe. Both were good.
