We're heading to WDW in September for 6 nights. Staying at Beach Club. Time frame is a friday-Thursday. Last trip was in 2021. Didn't have the dining plan then and not planning to get it this time. We'll usually grab a quick breakfast at the hotel market/cafeteria and get on to the parks. We like to have "Linner" around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Then, as is tradition, we get a Mickey bar in the evening to finish the day.

The question is "WHERE DO WE HAVE LINNER EACH DAY?" We've got a lot of time to do the research. Looking to the wisdom of DisBoards for ideas.

The two places that stick in our mind as really good from the last couple visits are
  • the restaurant inside the main building of the Mexico pavilion in EPCOT
  • The Skipper Jungle Canteen in MK
We could go to a sit down or a quick service. We have park hopper tix so anyplace in WDW is open any day. We'll also be there during EPCOT Food & Wine festival. Done that before and we weren't thrilled with the F&W offerings. Will likely try and align the Linner choice with the primary park choice for the day. Park choice will be based on hours, EEH, and other items.

OH WISE DISBOARD FOLK, PLEASE OPINE AND GIVE ME YOUR FAVS AND SUGGESTIONS.

We're visiting end of Sept. so I'm interested to hear the responses you get, as well! We had such a fun and delicious meal last fall at Spice Road Table in Epcot. That's a place I think we'll likely continue to visit. San Angel (inside the Mexico pavilion) is good, but the quick service - La Cantina - right across the road has very similar (and sometimes yummier!) food for a much lower price. There's outdoor seating, but they have a nice indoor area, as well. Biergarten is also a fun experience and will definitely fill you up for "linner!"

Also, I love your Mickey Bar tradition! Some park nights, we eat ice cream for dinner, too! My kids say I'm a "yes mom" at Disney ;)

MK - Jungle Navigation Skipper's Canteen...for sure!
HS - Brown Derby Lounge (outdoors) or 50's Prime Time
EP - Any or ALL of the booths for Food & Wine Festival
AK - Yak & Yeti
AKL (Kidani) - Sanaa
BC - Beaches & Cream
YC - Ale & Compass
Poly - Kona
....just a few suggestions...not like I've eaten at EVERYone of these...and more!

Great suggestions. Lots for me to research. Thanks !!!

EP- Via Napoli for pizza some people love it or hate it!
EP - Biergarten German food buffet...its a must for us and the Oompah band hours are 1:15,2:15, 3:15, 4:45,5:55 & 7:00
EP- Le Cellier in Canada steakhouse its a hit or miss. We have been there for both. We will try it again come May.
HS-Sci-fi old drive in atmosphere -hamburgers shakes & such
HS- 50s Prime time - takes you back to your kitchen in the 50s
AK- Yak & Yeti
MK- that is a tough one for us ...we usually leave the park and go to a nearby resort. Wilderness Lodge Geyser Point .. beautiful surroundings very relaxing plus the food is good! They are known for their bison burger. plus you have Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary and their chocolate cake is DELICIOUS!! More options at the Poly. & Grand Fl.
Hope is helps.. there are sooo many other great choices especially when it comes to desserts. Les Halles Boulangerie at Epcot is one of them you can be real naughty in there meaning you would have to get at least 3 of them if not more to try 🤣 Enjoy!! Marla

I noticed you will be retired when you go. We will be there in May and it will be my retirement trip also!! Congratulations to you :cool1:

Our traditions are:
Jiko
Hollywood Brown Derby (ate there twice)
San Angel inside the pyramid in epcot
Tiffins
Tusker House
In MK we generally monorail,to Epcot, LOL, although we are suckers for Crystal Palace
Boathouse on the back porch
Jock Lindsay’s

An alternative suggestion (and what we do) play the slots and just book whatever is available for whatever time/park/hotel you want on the day of. Been going for over 40 years and the only ADR we have ever made in advance was V&A's and even that was just a week out. We like to just hop on MDE and see what is available and go from there. That way we get to try new things and don't have to plan our day, cause we tend to change our minds a thousand times during the course of a day as to where we want to be and what we want to do. If you are going for Linner (or lupper as we call it) it should be a lot easier since people tend to book up those traditional times.

We love both of the restaurants you mentioned. They are favorites of ours. I would also recommend Tusker House at Animal Kingdom. It is a great buffet and you get to meet Mickey and Friends while you eat. We also love Sanaa at Kidani Village and Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge. If you are at Disney Springs I would go with Raglan Road. Great food and great entertainment.

MK - Liberty Tree Tavern, Be Our Guest, Tony’s
Epcot - Chefs de France, Space220, Le Cellier, Tutto Italia, Coral Reef
DHS - 50’s PTC and Hollywood Brown Derby
AK - Rainforest Cafe.
AKL - Boma
Disney Springs - The Boathouse.

Poly- I hear the new dining/bar spot in the Tower is wonderful. Currently can't make ADRs there, but perhaps by the time your trip rolls around, you will. Trader Sam's is always fun for a drink, too.

Contemp- Steakhouse 71 is delicious and I don't even eat steak.

MK- I've had some good experiences at Skipper. Other than that, the price point at Be Our Guest keeps me away. I miss the old BoG!

Beach/Board/Riv/Carib - I am trying out linner (or is it lunner or dinch?) at the Cake Bake. (you can make ressies at Open Table too). I have seen great reviews for the food. I probably will pass on the cake though. Trattoria is also a nice option! I hear great things about the steakhouse at the YC, too. It's been a couple years, but I loved breakfast at Toppolino's. I LOVED Sebastian's at the Caribbean Beach. SO good!

EPCOT: I have always enjoyed San Angel. I hear great things about Shiki at the Japan pavilion. If you haven't tried Space, but don't want to eat the price fix then try for a lounge ADR. It's a one-and-done for me, but if you haven't done it...

DHS: I'd take Skyliner and eat at Sebastian's.

AK: I really enjoy Yak & Yeti. It's all about the ahi tuna nachos. Tiffin's is quite good, too, though a few steps up.

Coronado: I hear great things about Toledo, though I haven't gone there yet.

AK Flame Tree BBQ or Yak & Yeti
BC Beaches and Cream
MK Grab some spring rolls, Columbia Harbor House or Tony's
EPCOT Yorkshire fish and chips or Biergarten
Ohana is my all-time favorite

Linner?

I love lounging at a patio table overlooking the water at Spice Table. The theming there is so on the money and matches the food perfectly.

La Crêperie de Paris is a relaxing spot as well and the menu is just right. Don’t forget to have a refreshing glass of “cidre” with your meal.

Geyser Point is our go to for meals at MK. The boat ride is just dreamy enough and once you arrive a limited but well prepared menu awaits.

There are other choices but just thinking of these puts a smile on my face.
