Dining Suggestion after doing Animal Kingdom

We ate at Sanaa in AKV after Animal Kingdom. It was really easy to get to (just took the bus to AKL/AKV and on the way back, we took a bus to DHS and switched to a bus bound for our resort) and the food was great. We'll be doing it again in March.

On AK day, we normally have breakfast at Tusker and dinner at 1900 PF. We too have in the past, gone back to POR, taken a shower grabbed jackets and gone DTD by boat and gone to eat at Earl. It makes it for a nice quiet little evening compare to the other days and allows you to have a little more time to sleep and the kids get a bit more rested for the next day.

Boma

Earl of Sandwich is a favorite with us as well.

We also really enjoy Portobello at DTD - hasn't been on the dining plan either time we ate there but we loved the food. Service was GREAT the first time and just so so the second - it was much more crowded that time.

We always go to Boma at AKL after our AK day. The buffet is set up in pods and there is so much to choose. There is a children's section, but they can eat the rest of the buffet as well.

A bonus is the AKL is just gorgeous and you may see animals there as well.

We always go to Boma after our day at AK as well. I try to make my ADR for about an hour and a half after AK closes, so we have time to take the bus over to AKL, look around in the amazing gift shops there before time to eat. It has worked out perfect for us each time..doing it again on Tuesday March 1st!! :yay:

Another vote for Boma. My kids LOVED it! And, Jambo house is BEAUTIFUL. You could spend hours just walking around there. :cloud9:

If you like juice, ask for a glass of the frunch. Soooooo good! (They brought me some at dinner in addition to my soda at no extra charge. :))

Ok silly question if you have an ADR for Yak Yeti at 6:30p and AK closes at 7:00p, do they let you stay and eat your meal or will they rush you out?

Another idea is Trails End at FW. They (FW) have a campfire & movie w/ Chip & Dale every night. Your kids might enjoy that. Ask on the camping brd for more specifics if you're interested.

In the past, we've gone to BOMA after the AK. BOMA is great....especially their soups!! And in Feb/March, soup is probably a good thing to eat (especially if it's as cold down there as it has been lately!)

This time around, we are going to DTD after the AK (it closes at 5pm) and eating dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. (the sit down restaurant). We've eaten at Wolfgang's Express MANY times and it is FANTASTIC...I've never eaten at the Cafe before, so I hope it is just as good!!

T-Rex is a good choice too. Not on the dining plan, but they DO accept the Disney Rewards Card. That is how we paid for our lunch in 09. My boys loved it there, and we thought the food was pretty good, and the portions (at least what we ate) were large.

Another vote for Boma at the AKL. The bus trip isn't far from AK. You will need to go over to DTD or another park to catch a ride back to your resort unless you take a taxi. You can walk around and view the animals.

At DTD we like Earl of Sandwich.

Never had a late ADR like that but I've seen ADRs available at AK near park closing time. But I'm sure you can dine at your leisure. I've read it takes a while to empty the park... even heard of people being in MK several hours after the closing time. But, I've also seen CMs really encouraging people to head toward the exit when MNSSHP or MVMCP was over at MK. At Hollywood Studios, I've even seen ADR times available after park closing, and that is not during evening extra magic hours.

I'd like to hear any real experiences of hanging out after park closing for an ADR... this would be a nice way to experience AK without a lot of people.... (after the main crowd has left). When do the CMs start kicking you out???

Boma is really good! The food is seasoned with different spices than one may be use to. However, it is not overpowering. Capt. Jacks at DTD is really nice. It is on the regular dining plan and we really enjoyed the food. We have booked it again this year.

They don't rush you out. We had dinner one night at Epcot, and took our time. By the time we left, not only was Epcot closed, but the boat to the Epcot resorts had stopped running! The CMs we met were mainly janitorial and security, but everyone was very pleasant (since it was clear that we were moving towards the exit). I don't imagine it would be different for AK.
