Forgive my newbie question, but this is my first pandemic and I haven't been to Universal in about 15 years.

How do people eat without going inside to sit down? I know indoor dining will be open, but we'd like to avoid it if possible.

Are there places outdoors? Do you have a favorite bench somewhere? How does this work?

We ate fast food from Citywalk. Order inside, and then there are plenty of tables outside to eat.

A few of the in-park places have outside seating. Fast food Blvd and Today Cafe added some outdoor seating. I think Mythos, too. In City Walk, Red Oven has outdoor tables.

Hi my famliy is the same we will only eat oudoors. We went to Toothsome (City Walk) twice since January and sat out on their patio. It was very nice and will do it again. We put a special request in when we made the reservations about sitting outside. They will tell you they can't guarantee it but we had no problem both times. I am not sure what other restaurants do.

In the Studios we ate at Mel's diner because they had outdoor seating.

I think there are a couple more in the studios that does, not sure about IOA.

We ate outside at Lombard’s at Universal. It was nice. We just walked in when we were last there. Not sure if that’s normally possible.

There have been reports espeically for city walk restaurants, that reservations are recommended right now or you will have to wait till late to eat. I am not sure if the parks are requiring it.

Lombards is nice we did eat there once a while ago.

If I were you, I'd compile a list of places with outdoor seating and make a few reservations. But, I've been watching recent youtube restaurant reviews and I've seen several mentions of outside seating being quicker for walk-ups. So, I think most people are still preferring the indoor dining, which is good for you. At Mythos you can watch one of the water rides doing its big splash.

Thunderfalls Terrace has a great outdoor dining area, in the shade, overlooking the boat splashdown area of the Jurassic Park River Adventure.

It's our favourite QS restaurant in the parks.
