Dining Seating Arrangements

I'm a newbie to the board and will be on going on our first cruise. We are a family of 4 with 2 small children. Just wondering whether it's typical that we will be seated together with another family, or will we be seated in our own table for 4. How is this usually handled on the dining rooms? Thanks.

Welcome to the DIS, Mr. Ed!!

The majority of the tables in the dining room are 4- and 6-tops, but you could be seated with others. If you would like to have a table for your family only, you can request a 4-top with DCL and they will do their best to accommodate.

We had requested a table for 4 and was assigned a table for 8. We went to the head waiter and asked if it was possible to have a table for 4 and he did find us one. We had late seat dining.
