Ok fellow disney fanatics :) i have a few questions, relating to dining, if you could answer/help out it would be greatly appreciated :thumbsup2 .

1) Of all the Character dining, which was your favorite?

2) Can you pay for the character dining with cash/credit card or dining plan credits, or either one?

3) What one restaurant would you recommend from each park? not only for food, but for over all experience?

4) Is there a list somewhere that lists what restaurants are in what park?

thanks for taking the time to read this! I appreciate it!

1) Tie between Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace.

2) All of the character dining places take the dining plan, credit cards or cash. Cinderella's Royal Table is the only character meal that requires 2 TS dining credits, all other character meals only require 1 TS dining credit.

3) MK- Crystal Palace
MK Resort Area - Ohana at the Polynesian Resort is the best restaurant in all of WDW, in my opinion.
Epcot - LeCellier or Coral Reef
DHS - Mama Melrose's
AK - We don't like any TS in AK, we usually go to DTD or AK lodge and eat at Boma on AK days

4) www.allears.net is my favorite WDW planning site for restaurants and menus.

I do have a question...do you have to stay on property to make ADR's? We're going in either August or September--and not staying on property. I've done the math and we're saving around $500.00. At any rate, I do want to go to Chef Mickey's one day!!!

No, you do not have to stay on site to make ADRs. Anyone can may dining reservations. Also, do you mean you are saving $500.00 over the free dining discount that is offered in August/September. Free dining is the best discount I've have ever found for our family.

I thought they did that during August/September. I haven't seen it yet..if that's the case we'll go with the free dining plan :) Wasn't sure if they were going to do it again this year.

They have already offered the 2010 fall free dining promo as a bounceback with the dates of August 15 - October 2 and it's currently available for booking through the UK site, so I would guess the offer will be announced in late March/early April as usual.

Ohana Breakfast at the Polynesian is just great. The food is delicious (scrambled eggs, mickey waffles, potatoes, sausage, bacon, fruit, biscuits), the characters all love to be there, and there's a fun parade every 40 minutes where the kids get marracas and march around the restaurant with Lilo, Stitch, Pluto and Mickey. Plus you can see the castle from the restaurant which is fun.
Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary also has a great character breakfast and dinner. You get Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy and there's a great variety of food at the buffet.
Actually, you really can't go wrong anywhere. :)

Thanks everyone for your reply!! I'm still trying to decide which character dining to let my girls experience lol! There is just so much to figure out!

We go during free dining and are doing every TS meal as character dining except for one dinner show (we don't care what we eat and we like characters). We booked bounceback last year so we get the regular dining plan while staying at a value resort. Our plan for our next trip (11 nights) is:
Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner (to see the Cinderella, Fairy Godmother & mice)--counts as 2 TS
1900 Park Fare for dinner (to see Cinderella, Prince Charming, the stepmother and stepsisters)
Garden Grill for dinner (too see Chip, Dale, Mickey, Donald)

Chef Mickey's (to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto)--don't know if we'll do breakfast or dinner--maybe dinner since we have a bunch of breakfasts already

Crystal Palace for breakfast (to see Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet & Tigger--getting earliest possible reservation to get into MK before it opens)
Askerhaus for breakfast (to see princesses)--we didn't like the lunch food
Donald's Safari breakfast (Donald, Daisy, Mickey, & Goofy)
Ohana's for breakfast to see Lilo and Stitch (only new character meal for us this trip--we've done all the rest before)

Luau Dinner show (counts as two TS)--haven't done this one before either--probably will do arrival night as we don't have park tickets that day.

Doing all character meals will make the tips higher (the buffets cost more than menu food usually). My daughter thinks this is how you always to WDW (she's been twice, both during free dining). We wouldn't do any of these without the free dining promotion (we'd be packing most of our meals).

We have enjoyed all of our character meals except:
1900 Park Fare for breakfast (we didn't enjoy the Mad Hatter--he is really LOUD)
Askerhaus for lunch (Norwegian food wasn't to our liking--they serve an American breakfast, so we go then)

I prefer the meals served family style so we don't have to run back & forth to the buffet, but you don't get as much variety.

You can pay in cash, use a credit card, or charge it to your room.
