For those of you who have called DCL or your TA in advance of your cruise to request a preferred dining rotation.....

1) was your request that you made prior honored upon check-in?
2) If not, how easy was it to change your dining rotation? when and where did you make your request to change rotations?

Thank you...

IMO dining rotation is not worth the trouble of requesting or stressing over. Does it really matter that your eating in PC on pirate night or Lum's on formal/semi-formal?? Everyone on the ship is on the same theme as you are, so it really doesn't matter which restraunt you are dining in that night. Just relax & enjoy the pampering for a week :-)

Usually, I dont care which rotation we get...however,on this cruise, I specifically want APL rotation, which I requested by design....

1) On May 7 Western, APL rotation....character breakfast is on Sunday, Mothers Day...we felt this would be extra special for whole family, and DWs friends family to enjoy this....
2) APL puts you in Lumieres on both formal and semi-formal nights....Thus, I can pack accordingly...this works out nicely since for other rotations you end up in AP or PC formal night, and I dont like to underdress at Lumieres...thus I wont have to pack nice clothes for both semi and formal nights, Palo, and both Lumieres nights....
3) My DSs 4th birthday is on Pirate Night, Wednesday....so, for a really nice, and appropriate celebration, we want to be in PC .....
4) AP is my least favorite restaurant, so Palo would be a good choice for Tuesday night(2nd AP).....we are traveling with 1st timers, so they will get to see the AP light show on Saturday night....

Thus, I have specific reasons....I think we will get this rotation anyway, since we have some small ones (under 7) with us...APL is traditionally little kids rotation....

BUMP.....

Can anyone please advise me where and when on the ship to go to change dining rotation if in fact we dont receive our preferred....

Thank you!!!!

Down the hall from Rockin Bar D, Deck 3 (the Deck you board the ship on at Port Canaveral)....they will have a table set up with laptops and CM's from dining....you can go up to them and request dining changes. I would do this as soon as you board (or as soon as possible..the times will be listed on the highlights page you will receive at checkin).....if it is possible for them to do it they will, but as you know, it is not guaranteed.

We have requested certain rotations twice and received the rotation once.

Another cruise we became friendly with some folks on the boarding line and we all decided to dine together and went to dining changes and they were able to accomodate all of us in our preferred rotation, but another cruise they could not move us to our preferred rotation.

The Character breakfast onboard is not as well run as the ones at WDW. We found that the characters were slow to move through the dining room and we were pretty much done with our meal before we were able to be visited by most of the characters...we actually skipped this the last few times we have cruised.
