I agree, but for a different reason...we booked Palo that night.I'm really hoping they don't change the night for the taste of Alaska menu (previously on Ketchikan night). I intentionally booked a later excursion that day because that menu didn't appeal to me at all!
Patiently waiting for the first Alaskan cruisers to come back and report the details!!![]()
The three dining rotations on our Alaskan cruise last August were:
#1: TAAPTAP
#2: APPTAPT
#3: PTTAPTA
We chose #2 because:
(a) we love Animator's Palate and, for us, eating there is a great way to start the cruise and
(b) we never eat at Parrot Cay, and used those three nights to eat at Palo twice and to relax and enjoy room service once.
Thank you for this information.Word is that these will not be the rotations this year. Shoreside has said they will be the traditional TAPTAPT, APTAPTA and PTAPTAP rotations instead. Speculation is that the new Frozen night has caused the change in the rotations...or shoreside could be wrong.
It has already been said that the rotation is now 1231231, so apparently one regular MDR menu will be missed if I understood MomMousex2 correctly.Last year we had:
Ap -Reg / show menu
PC - Golden Mickey ( Formal)
PC - Reg Menu
T- Regular Menu
AP - Toy Story Menu
PC- Taste of Alaska (skipped it for Palo)
T - 'Til We Meet Again Menu
The Golden Mickey, Toy Story and Taste of Alaska menu was identical in all MDRs for the nights they were served. I'll be interested to see how the Frozen menu is integrated.
I doubt that they will skip any of the rotational menus. Every DCL cruise (at least the ones I've been on) always has the minimum of the 3 rotational menus. From there the 4th menu added would be the Pirate one. For Alaska, I guess that means the Toy Story menu (Pixar night). Then they add the other themed menus: Captain's Gala; Till We Meet Again or Sea Ya Real Soon; Prince & Princess, for example. I don't know if the Frozen day will have it's own special menu, or if they will just use one of the other "regular" menus. It has already been said that the rotation is now 1231231, so apparently one regular MDR menu will be missed if I understood MomMousex2 correctly.
The order that the dining rooms are done in is Triton's (T) followed by Animator's Palate (A), followed by Parrot Cay (P). The guest complement is separated into 3 groups. One group starts in Triton's, another starts in Animator's, and the third starts in Parrot Cay (TAP). 1231231 means the first group will dine in this order TAPTAPT; second group - APTAPTA; and third group - PTAPTAP.Ok, please help me with this, how do we know what 1231231 means?
Just curious.. Thank you...
Someone from concierge spoke with shore side and that is exactly what they said. There will be a Frozen menu and there will be Pixar Night. That leaves Taste of Alaska, Golden Mickey's, and Til We Meet Again and according to what MomMousex2 posted all of those menus are a go too. Now shoreside could be wrong...I guess we find out after the June 1 sailing. The DVC sailing might give us some hints too, but only time will tell.I doubt that they will skip any of the rotational menus. Well, if that's true, my guess is they will drop either Taste of Alaska or Till We Meet Again, whichever they feel is less successful.Someone from concierge spoke with shore side and that is exactly what they said. Thank you. That is why I asked for clarification.I never said that they will be keeping all of the special menus in place, just that the rotations will be 1231231 instead of 1223123. They would never skip a rotational menu. My guess is that we will lose the Til We Meet Again menu or that the Taste of Alaska menu will be rethemed as the Frozen menu.
