Hi! I was wondering about the dining room seating at tables. How many to a table? I know there is more than one number of seatings (like tables of 6, 8, etc..) but we are a couple traveling and I was curious as to how we may be seated? I have to admit being a little nervous being at a table of 8 with a family of 6 and us and then not having anything to discuss with them! What is the smallest table seating they have? I'm not trying to be antisocial or anything...just curious. Thanks for any info.

they do have tables for two and tables as large as the "group" you're with is.. meaning they sometimes put table together for a larger group. My daughter and I sat at a table with three other families... one couple from Wales, a family of three from Alabama and three girlfriends from Pennsylvania and we had so much fun...it was nice to hear about others world travels and just as nice to hear what everyone did during the day.

I'm not sure how it worked out but my family of 4 had a table all to ourselves. It was rather nice since we didn't have to share the attention of our servers when they were at our table. But on the other hand, I was kind of looking forward to sitting with other people and getting to know them.

Actually in the main dining rooms, the smallest table is for 4. You can put a request on your reservation that you prefer a small table, or a large table. Our family of 4 has sat at a table for 4 on 2 different cruises, without specifically requesting either way.

There are tables for 2 at Palo.

We've sat at tables for 8 and 14. When we were at the table for 14 there were 5 families and none of us knew each other before the cruise. We had a blast!!

The first time we cruised, my DH & I got seated with a single mom & 8 year old. Neither one of them were interested in conversation, which made dinner a bit of a strain (fortunately it was only a 3 day cruise). The second time we went we sat at a table for 10 - a family of 8 & us. It was better, but still a little weird. I guess you just take your chances.

On each of our cruises we have been at table of different sizes
and seated with couple just like us .... 3 to 4 different couples..

On our cruise last February, a group of us DISers linked our reservations so we could eat dinner together. We had a table for 12 made up of two families of four and two single moms with kids. It was great! We enjoyed sharing the events of our days with each other. We all figured that if we were going to be seated with strangers anyway, we might as well be seated with people we met through the DIS Boards. If there is a thread for your cruise in the Cruise Meets section, maybe you can set something up with the DISers going on your cruise. Truly, it was one of the highlights of our cruise!
