Just Back from WDW…some quick dining reviews!

Sci Fi for lunch…I have heard a lot of negative things about this place, but we decided to try it, because it looked like fun! I had the basic All American burger, my sister had the BBQ Chicken breast sandwich. Both were good! No complaints on service either, and the atmosphere is terrific, I think everyone should try it at least once for the atmosphere. Maybe the fancier entrees at this place aren’t as great, but based on what we had, I give it four Mickeys.

Riverside Mill Food Court dinner…we ate dinner here twice. They had your everyday theme park food, but you could also get pizza made to order, as well as taco salads. I had chicken fingers one night, pizza the next. The pizza’s take awhile, but besides that everything was good, better than fast food quality. Three Mickeys.

Tusker House Restaurant, Lunch…as usual everything was delicious. I had the rotisserie chicken w/ mashed potatoes and green beans, DSis had the fried chicken sandwich w/ steak fries. Four Mickeys.

Liberty Tree Tavern, lunch…We were seated very soon after arriving, about ten minutes before our ADR. Service was friendly and quick…a little too quick! We got our food literally five minutes after ordering. Got the impression that it was already plated and just waiting to be ordered. But even so, the quality was good. I had the Pilgrims Feast, which was good. DSis had the Sandwich Heard Round the World, which is a turkey panini w/ bacon. She did not like it, she said there was cranberry dressing on it which she did not care for. After the meal, we ordered dessert, the Chocolate Liberation Cake, which is a warm chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and cherry ice cream…ah, this was incredible! I did take a picture of it, which I’ll post later. The dessert alone is worth a trip back. Four Mickeys.

Cosmic Ray’s Dinner – Rotisserie Chicken again for me, burger for DSis. Nothing they could really mess up here. Three Mickeys.

Sunshine Seasons, lunch…Yummy, yummy, yummy!!! I truly believe this to be one of the best counter service places in all of WDW. I had the Rotisserie Chicken Flatbread with Greens…delicious. DSis had the Black Forest Ham and Salami Grinder (a sandwich)…I had some of it, really good! One of the best meals we had. Five Mickeys.

Teppanyaki Dinner…I have mixed feelings on this meal…it was a good meal, but for overall value, I wasn’t crazy about it. They give you a small seaweed salad to start, which was different but good. I had a garden salad for an appetizer, which is a basic salad except for the ginger dressing. Nothing extraordinary. Then for the main entrée, I had the Ebi (shrimp.) DSis had the shrimp and chicken combination. The grilled veggies are mushrooms, zucchini, bean sprouts, and onions mixed with a small amount of noodles. The chef was the best part of the meal, he was entertaining. We skipped dessert here. (We wound up getting Chocolate Mousse at the bakery in France…ahh, chocolate!) They end the meal with a light hot green tea. I also had a drink while I was there, I forgot the name, but it’s made with Peach Schnapps, peaches, and something else…it was very yummy, I think it was the highlight of the meal. Overall it was not bad, but it wasn’t as wonderful as I was expecting it to be. I’ll probably try another WS restaurant next time. Three Mickeys.

Crystal Palace Breakfast – Excellent food and character interaction. Before realizing they were part of the kids buffet, I had the Pooh waffles. I also had scrambled eggs, corned beef hash, and lots of fruit. Very much worth it. Five Mickeys.

Pinnochio Village Haus, Dinner…I had the Italian Sub, DSis had the Chicken Strips. All was well. Three Mickeys.

That’s it! Hope it helps someone!

Thank you! Sounds like you had good overall experiences.

My travel agent recommended Teppanyaki, but my family is really not Asian food crazy, so we are going to Garden Grill instead!

I appreciate the lunch review of Liberty Tree Tavern. We have first time ressies there this September. Thanks for sharing.

I love to eat at WDW, I don't think I ever had a bad experience there.

Crystal Palace is one of my favorite places... I had breakfast and diner there, the buffet is superbe in the morning and at night... the characters are very funny and take their time with you...

I also loved the Sci-fi diner...it's quite special. I had the chicken sandwich and it was great. the kids loved the car booths and the old movies. I will be going back there again and again. ha!
We also went to eat at Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic diner package, and you get a lot of food... you choose from a fix menue but you have some choice... it's really good... salad, thin crust pizza and your choice of entré and a desert, it was too much to eat.

I have never ate in Epcot, any suggestions? thank's

Hi!

I am taking notes! Thanks for all of your great discriptions of the meals. It all sounds wonderful!

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Thanks for the reviews! We also enjoyed Sci Fi.. I think I had chicken w/stuffing and mashed sweet potatoes when we went and it was real good.
I have to agree with the review of Teppenyaki.. We were dissapointed and it was expensive, I was glad we had the dining plan or I would have felt slightly ripped off..
Atleast I tried it tho, we have several faves but we always try atleast one new restuarant per trip this time its Coral Reef and Boma..
