Just back, we stayed at CR from tues through sun
DH and myself, he was in a conference all day, so I was solo in the daytime

Biggest surprise was Alfredos. We switched to this one at the last minute so DH could catch illuminations. A little leary after reading some poor reviews.

We loved it!
Food, delicious...I had caesar salad and appetizer size alfredo, so as to leave room for the wonderful dessert sampler plate...yummy! Dh had calamari and a shrimp and pasta dish...very good
Service, excellent and friendly
atmospher, fun!
Will definately go back.

Biggest disappointment
California grill
Food.....DH had the grilled pork tenderloin...very good. I had fish...awful! I could only eat half, and that was because I was really hungry. DH shared his pork. Plus I was chastised by the waiter for leaving so much.

Service...rushed and snooty

atmosphere terrible....noisy from open kitchen, pots clanging, chefs yelling. kids everywhere, clanging on glasses. Lousy background music, when you could hear it. Dh and I had to almost shout to hear each other.
people dressed in shorts tennis shoes and t shirts
Didn't dim the lights to see wishes, we were stuck in a corner with no view anyway, so went out to the cat walk. It was about 45 degrees with strong north wind, so we shivered, but stuck it out. it was beautiful

Won't go back.

rest of the trip

Brown Derby...one of our faves, split cobb salad, seared tuna and grapefruit cake.
food delicious
service, efficient and friendly
atmospher, fun

Boma's
again, a must do for us. we just love the food, and it was great as usual, but you have to like that kind of food. Had my favorite carrot ginger soup, prime rib and banana bread pudding. ribs melted in the mouth!

Le Cellier
Service, excellent
food delicious, but we ate way too much!
atmosphere, fine

Best coffee.....cappuchino and tiaramasu (SP) from the kiosk in Italy in Epcot
hit the spot!! Also at the Poly at the cafe, and at common grounds coffee shop in the lobby at CR,

worst coffee ... room service at CR yuck!

best snack was the egg roll for 2$ at the stand in MK. Guess I was craving it! also funnel cake while watching the parade at MK.

We had breakfast at the concourse steakhouse at CR when we didn't have room service. it was great !!!

Best cheese grits I ever had, home made with cream and butter, then added grated cheese and smoked bacon on top!!! Wish I had discovered this the first day!!!!!

All in all, we had another terrific trip!!!

Thanks for the review! I had always heard bad things about Alfredo's, too, but my parents just had dineer there this week and said it was the best meal of the trip.

I'm glad to hear that others have been happy with it, too!

I was also pleasantly surprised by Alfredo's and will be returning next trip. Thanks for the reviews.

Yeah :cheer2: :cheer2: good grits :thumbsup2

We are going to the CR for our first trip in May and I LOVE grits  I grew up in the south so properly cooked grits are a must. I can't wait to try them. This also gives me hope that the biscuits -n- gravy will be good in the food-n-fun center.

Good reviews, thanks for taking the time to write them. I was very surprised at the noise level at California Grill as well. It was so loud that DH and I had a hard time talking. We've there 2 more times since then and the noise level wasn't nearly as bad, one meal was early, around 5:30 and the other was late, around 9:30--I'm sure that made all the difference. Or maybe I just knew to expect a noisy atmosphere. Sorry that the service wasn't up to par either, I can't believe a server would say anything to you about not finishing your meal. Why would they even care? Anyway, glad that you enjoyed your trip, all the other meals sounded fabulous.

remember...grits are at the concourse steakhouse breakfast.

I never tried the biscuits and gravy at the food and fun center.

Don't forget the coffee at common grounds off the lobby.

Man...I miss those grits!!

Thanks for the reviews. Sorry to hear you had a bad CG experience. We've been lucky there. We've also had very good luck with Alfredo's. We haven't been in awhile. Glad to hear it's good.

Those grits do sound yummy! I've had some great cheesey grits with bacon (and garlic for me) at Spoodles & at Garden Grove.

Ever since I read this thread and responded this morning all I can think about is.....GRITS! I think I am going to make grits for dinner tonight. DH always loves a good breakfast dinner. MMMmmmmmm.........creamy grits with cheese.
