Just got back from spending five days at WDW. It was my second time at WDW but the first time eating at any of the TS restaurants because my first trip was a last minute thing. So this time with advanced plans go to DW I was determined to do things right. At the 180 day mark I made all my dining reservations and got everything I wanted. After investigating these boards and knowing my parties food preferences these are the ones I picked (went with my parents this trip). The following list is the order we ate them in. BTW each morning we ate breakfast in our room.
Day 1
50's Prime Time (lunch): First one is actually the worst. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great either. May have had something to do with the red eye flight the night before. I got a sampling of mom's favorites because I wanted to try a bit of everything (fried chicken, pot roast, and meatloaf). It was all good but not great. I also got the PB&J milkshake because i saw ppl on here talk about it. It was good but it just tasted like a peanut butter shake to me.
Il Mulino (dinner): My family like Italian food. We don't actually know what makes it "true" italian, we just like it, and I read here that if you are going to an Italian place on property just solely for how good the food is, this place was one of the best. Well it did not disappoint. I had the Tortellini with meat in a white cream sauce and it was very good. I tried some of my moms which was dumplings in meat sauce and hers was excellent as well.
Day 2
QS (lunch) I actually had this on my first DW visit and was looking forward to having it again.... Fish and chips by the IG at Epcot. Simple but soooo good.
O'hana (dinner) This was one I was looking forward to the most because the menu looked very appealing to me. I was nervous though because I had read some people recently not enjoying their experience. Well for us it was perfect! got a table right next to the window looking out at the pool. The food was amazing, especially the dessert.
Day 3
QS (lunch) Ate at the flame tree BBQ
Via Napoli (dinner) We all love Pizza. Some people here swear by this place. I thought it was really good but it wasn't the greatest pizza ever. But I always say there is no such thing as bad pizza. Just good or great. This falls in between good and great.
Day 4
San Angel Inn (lunch) I know on DISboards this place gets mixed reviews but we really wanted to eat at a Mexican place and I heard the ambiance is pretty cool eating inside the pyramid. It was cool inside but it would have been even better having a table next to the water. I actually really enjoyed my food there too. Got Chipotle shrimp with rice and it was very flavorful.
QS (dinner) The QS side of Yak and Yeti. Had the special going on there which is Korean bbq rib tips. Pretty good. Had some of my dads honey chicken and that was tasty too.
Day 5
Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch) We all agreed this was our favorite. We all got the same thing, pot roast. It was AMAZING. Then for dessert I took peoples suggestions and got the OOey Gooey Toffee cake. That was just as amazing. This is the one place I'll say for sure I'll come back to every trip for now on.... It's not even that expensive at lunch compared to some places.
BOG (dinner) Saved the best for last right? Well it was very good and you can't beat the setting. We were seated in the west wing. Really cool in there. Got the steak which was pretty good and then the grey stuff for dessert.
Well that's my roundup of meals this last trip. I'll be coming back to DW again later this year. If anyone has any suggestions on other places to try I'm all ears. I want to try some more exotic foods next time like at Marrakesh in Epcot WS or one of the place at the AK.
