Here is a list of where we ate last weekand: Also, we were on the Deluxe Dining Plan.

California Grill: I posted a review in a separate thread (disappointed in Cali Grill)

Crystal Palace: We had a late breakfast here on our arrival day around l0:40 a.m. Overall, this breakfast was okay. The made to order omelet was thin. I would almost say it was like a crepe if that makes sense. The vegetables I had in it were a little too hard but overall it was alright. The best part of the buffet IMO was the puffed french toast. I have never had this at any other breakfast buffets and my son and I really enjoyed this. The only other small negative was I think the buffet can be a little far from some of the tables. We don't have small children, so as far as the characters, they were cute and posed for pictures with us and that was fine. The kids around us seemed to really enjoy them.

Grand Floridian Cafe: I had read the menu here and I wanted to give it a try so we had lunch the second day of our visit. We originally had a reservation at Chef Mickey's for around 11:00 a.m. but we could not get there. When we arrived at the monorail we were told it would be down for fifteen minutes so we headed to the boat dock at the Poly. We waited and waited until a boat came. Only a few people got on because it was full. After, what seemed, a long time we finally made it on a boat. Went to the MK and caught the monorail to the CR. We were so late for our ressie and my son and I both agreed we wanted lunch instead of breakfast we ended up at the GFC. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were seated in about ten minutes. (sorry about the long prelude to the review)

This is a very pretty restaurant. I really like the atmosphere. We had a nice waiter. The only slight negative and for me it was not a big deal but if you are in a hurry to get somewhere the food took a while to arrive. I actually enjoyed the ambience and the leisurely pace. Just something to keep in mind if you are on a tight schedule. We both ordered the French Onion Soup and it was delicious. I have not had better anywhere else. I ordere the Reuben sandwich, per our waiter's suggestion and it was an excellent choice, very good. I didn't really care for the cucumber salad on the side. My son ordered the Grand Floridian Burger, it came with lobster, some kind of sauce, and asperagus. He ordered it with cheese and requested the asperagus be left off. He really enjoyed his sandwich. It looked good but maybe a little rich for me. My son ordered plain ice cream for dessert and I ordered the fondue. The fondue was a nice finish to the meal. It was light and big enough to share.

Overall, we really enjoyed our meal here and I would go back:thumbsup2

Narcoosees: We had a late dinner around 9:00 p.m. We ordered a bottle of Evian and I had a glass of Chardonnay. On the DDP, you can order a large bottle of Evian to be shared by two. It does count as a drink for two. Bread was brought out quickly, which was good. We both ordered the crab cakes and they followed the bread immediately. They were delicious. Loved the mustard sauce that came with them. My son had the surf and turf ( he ordered this last year and he said this time it was better). He ordered augratin (sp) potatoes and those were fantastic. I had a crab encrusted fish. I didn't take notes so I can't remeber the type of fish but my entree was very good. For dessert, I ordered the almond cheesecake and my son ordered gelato. Both desserts were wonderful. I also ordered a pot of the french press coffee and that was a nice end to the meal.

We had a very pleasant waitress who engaged in conversation just enough to make the meal pleasant but was not intrusive. This was our second visit here. Both experiences were wonderful, although I thought the food was better on this second visit. I would return :thumbsup2

O'Hana: Since we were staying at the Poly, Ohana seemed like a good choice for breakfast. I really didn't care for the food, although I already knew this because we had eaten here before. I actually returned for the convenience factor and well the characters are pretty cute. The only thing we actually enjoyed were the Mickey waffles and the juice they serve, although very sweet, was actually pretty good. Also, we had a very nice waitress.

Stich really does a good job entertaining everyone. He was carrying on with Pluto and just being ornery. So, if you enjoy the characters I would recommend this restaurant:thumbsup2

Sci Fi: We had lunch here, second time. Love the atmosphere:thumbsup2 We both ordered onion rings, which were very good. My son ordered a milkshake for his drink and he also had a second one for his desseert. I guess he liked it:) We also both ordered the cheeseburgers and I think they are just fine for what they are. The coleslaw that came with mine didn't really have any taste but the hamburgers are so big I didn't really need it.

Now the negative was my dessert, it was some sort of chocolate peanutbutter cake. I had this last year and liked it but this year it was terrible. I don't know if it was old or they microwaved it too much but it was harder than a rock. I should have sent it back but we didn't have a great waiter (slow and indifferent) that I was just ready to leave.

Overall, if you have not been here, it is definitely worth a visit for the atmosphere. Plus, I do think the burgers are pretty good. Last year it was better (better server and better dessert). I really think at Disney restaurants are more likely to be hit or miss than in the outside world.

Kona Cafe dinner: We have eaten at Kona Cafe for dinner several times and once for lunch. I ordered the terriyaki (sp) strip steak and my son ordered the pecan crusted chicken breast. I should have listened to my son and ordered something else because the steak is on the fatty/tough side. I have ordered this in the past and sort of knew this but I got it again and it was rather disappointing. On the other hand, my son enjoyed his chicken. I had a piece and it was good (very tender). For an appetizer we shared the sesame chicken wings and I did not care for them. They, also were on the tough side and not very enjoyable.

For dessert, my son got the Kona Cone and I had the Kialeau (sp) torte. Sorry, I'm too lazy to look up the spelling for this. Both were enjoyable.

I will add that we had one of the most boring waitresses I have ever encountered. She wasn't terrible but she just seemed like a robot with no personality:confused3

Overall, I think Kona Cafe if a nice choice for a table service meal, but i will probably give it a break for dinner for a while.

Kona Cafe breakfast: On our last day we had breakfast here. I had read reviews of the Macadamia nut/pineapple pancakes and I really wanted to try them. These were so good they did not disappoint:love: I ordered a pot of the French Press coffee and I think the waitress did something wrong because it did not taste near as good as the French Press coffee we had at Narcoossee's. The waitress at Narcoossee's said that if you push the handle down too soon the coffee will be like water and I think maybe our Kona waitress did this. I didn't complain because I was in a bit of a hurry. We had to finish packing to catch the ME bus back to the airport. In any event, the pancakes made up for the coffee and the waitress was really a nice girl. I would certainly make a reservation here for breakfast again:thumbsup2

The other place we stopped at was Beaches and Cream for sundaes only. We both ordered the No Way Jose. My son added a brownie to his. Now, this really isn't a big deal but my son did request chocolate sprinkles on his sundae. What can I say, he loves chocolate. The waitress said she would get them but as she left our table she just went and stood by the counter. When we finished eating, she came over and immediately and said, sorry I forgot the sprinkles. I guess it irritated me because I am not sure she didn't do this on purpose. But, overall, these are pretty awesome sundaes.

thanks so much for your reviews....I know if I ordered sprinkles I would want my sprinkles....but I love a chocolate anything too.

Thanks again
