My husband and I stayed at Poly Dec. 13-17. Here are some reviews. This is just my opinion. We brought breakfast with us so that's why I didn't review breakfast.
Dinner at Boma - Yum! My DH loves this place because it's so different. we had to go the first night - I don't think he could have waited any longer! We didn't have a PS, but we only had to wait a couple of minutes. The food was great- so many different tastes that my taste buds weren't used to. The apple viniagrette was really good. DH loved the watermelon rind salad. There was a soup that was good - can't remember the name but it had chicken and apples with cream. The waitress, who was nice, said the soup was popular that night and I could see why (or rather taste why
). The salmon was good. The couscous marrakesh was similar to the one at the F&W festival this year. Although I was getting full, I still had room for dessert! The zebra domes were great. The sugar cookies were not good, but the that was the only bad part. Some things were not my favorite, but nothing was really bad. We requested some recipes but haven't heard anything yet.
Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern - I'd never been here before and liked the atmosphere. We ate in the Thomas Jefferson room. Our waiter was really nice. We had cheeseburgers that were big (for me). Everything was good and it was nice to do something different.
Dinner at Chefs de France- We didn't have a PS but we went at around 8:30 and got a window seat. The restaurant itself really reminds me of the ones in Paris. We started off with the cheese plate, which had 4 different cheeses. I think brie, camembert or emmental, a moldy one and something else. My favorite was the moldy one. The cheese plate also had a salad on it so it was like getting a salad and cheese all in one. For the entree, I had the half rotisserie chicken with red potatoes. It was good. I remember this restaurant being better before, but maybe it was just what I ordered. I wanted to try the mac and cheese but felt like I should order something else that was nicer.
Lunch at Earl of Sandwich - I heard a lot of DISers talk about this and I was curious. The line was long and I didn't want to wait but it moved fast. The sandwiches were really good. I had a turkey one and my DH had a ham one (I think?). The bread was different and good and my DH thought so too.
Dinner at Narcoossee's - We had never been here either (we eat at the same places so I wanted to try new places this time). We made a PS and requested a window seat. We didn't get it so we asked to be moved. The restaurant is over the lagoon, and we could see the castle. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a PS during the fireworks. We started off with the field greens salad with citrus viniagrette. It was good but not as good as the apple viniagrette at Boma. I had the salmon with potatoes, chard and a madeira sauce. I love madeira sauces! It was really good. We were too full for dessert. I wanted a gingerbread cookie from the gingerbread house in the GF lobby anyway. We bought one for later. The life-sized gingerbread house was cute - check it out if you can.
Lunch at counter service in MGM - fine but not worth reviewing.
Dinner at Ohana - We went to 3 parks and I was tired and wanted to go back to the hotel and eat there since we hadn't eaten there yet. We had to wait an hour for a table (we went back to the room while we waited so it wasn't that bad). They stuck us near the back. There was a table that was so loud and obnoxious that it was hard to enjoy the dinner. I know it's already a noisy place, but there's a difference. They first bring out the food on the lazy susan. I liked the salad. Then they brought the turkey and pork or beef. It took awhile for the waiter to bring the skewers out. Finally he brought the shrimp and the pork or beef. I had to peel the shrimp and it was a little too spicy. I used to like this restaurant, but it was just not a good experience this time. My DH wanted to go back to Epcot and I wish I had gone along even though I was tired.
The rice crispy Mickey ears and Christmas trees are really good - we ate them at MK on Main Street and at Captain Cook's.
Hope you enjoy the reviews!
