We used the DDE for alot of our meals, my meal plan and budget is one good meal a day, which is usually a buffet.

Counter Service-
Captain Cooks at the Polynesian - ate here several times. Did cheeseburgers, chicken strips etc. DS did not care for the pizza. Said the cheese was yucky. I did not enjoy the cherry danish, too doughy. The island chicken sandwich was very good.

Backlot Express at MGM - Did cheeseburgers, chicken and turkey sandwich. I took the argula and peppers off the sandwhich. We all loved the desserts. We were fighting over the peach tart. Yummy. Hard to find a seat here. Very crowded, even around 2 pm.

Electric Umbrella - Had the cheeseburger, chicken, roast beef and turkey sandwiches. DH said there was no tomato or lettuce on the toppings bar. Didnt care for the chocolate chip cookies but the cheesecake was good.

Typhoon Lagoon - Just had turkey legs, hot dogs and chips from one of the stands.

Blizzard Beach - tried to get the mini donuts but said they wouldnt take a room charge, oh well.

Sit down/table service
Hollywood and Vine - this was our favorite. A word of caution. Don't arrive too late for your ps. Ours was actually for 5:30 and due to losing ds at blizzard beach, we arrived at 6:30 pm. DH said the couple in front of us had the same time and were turned away. I made dh take ds up to check in and apologize. They said you just made it, we only hold the ps for l hour and then its gone. We all love this place. My favorite was the turkey pot roast and the prime rib was good too. Drinks were promptly filled. Ds liked the peel and eat shrimp. The desserts were fantastic. We all liked the little chocolate mouse cups the best.

Crystal Palace - we ate here for both lunch and dinner. For lunch our table was very far away from the food, a long walk and dodging kids while holding a plate of food was not fun. The flank steak was good. The salad selections were very fresh. I loved the warm bannana bread pudding with baileys irish cream for dessert. For dinner - I think there was peel and eat shrimp and prime rib. All was good and this time we had a table very close to the food. Didnt have to deal with dodging lots of kids this time. I think ds 17 had about 6 plates of food. I guess he is a real growing boy!! The other 2 ds liked the food again too. Everyone loved the crusty rolls. Very fresh. Our lunch server was teresa and our dinner server was Kathy.

Chef Mickeys - We got taken right on time and didnt have to do that photo session. I never buy it anyway because they refuse to sell us 1 picture, only the package is offered. So many people were being turned away from this
place with no priority seatings. It was totally crowded. We did not enjoy the
food as much as we have before. Our server was Tessa I think. She didnt look too happy but was efficient enough. My prime rib actually looked like a chunk of pot roast and the gravy was terrible. The shrimp was good and the beef barley soup was good. DS liked the penne pasta offering. For dessert I enjoyed the little tarts with fresh berries, carrot cake and a few small other things. The parmesean potatoes were good. I think we might try something else next time.

Grand Floridian Cafe - this was only DH and myself. It was a bad rainstorm and we called ahead. They said the wait was 30 minutes. When we got there they said 1 hour. We waited in the GF lobby and it was actually like 40 minutes, but we were seranaded by the great musicians there so the time went by fast. Our server was Jessi and she was fantastic. Our table was all the way in the back, I didnt mind the walk and it was good to actually sit and be served, not a buffet this time. But we were right next to the window. We could see all the room service orders going by and the storm outside and everyone trying to seek shelter. We shared the crab cake appetizer. It was fantastic. Huge and spiced just right. DH had the french onion soup and I had the field green salad. I though the salad was fresh, but the dressing was a little overpowering. For the entree dh had the pistachio crusted snapper which he said was great and I had the penne with shrimp and asiago cheese, fantastic and huge, I could not finish it all. The sourdough rolls were excellent and they also had little cinnamon raisin loafs. For dessert we shared the chocolate fondue, dh choice. I was not too thrilled. The fruits offered were pineapples, strawberries and bannanas and marshmallows. I would have gone with the dessert sampler tray.

1900 Park Fare - Breakfast. We had a later ps for around 10:30. We were done by noon and it was pretty empty. The ds enjoy the omlet chef. I didnt care for the apple spice muffins. Everything was fresh and good. Loved the mickey waffles. Lots of people having birthdays. They give you a special crown. I dont know if they let you keep it but I did see a liitle girl carrying one out. Alice finally came around. Pooh and Tigger were around alot and we saw the Mad Hatter twice. Mary Poppins was in the lobby dressed in her travel wear/working clothes I think. Red coat etc. Breakfast is sure expensive. We never do a breakfast but it was our last day and we werent doing a park due to our flight time. DS liked chocolate milk. Our server prided herself in remembering all our ds names. She was nice. I didnt notice any donuts or hash browns etc.

We didnt get the refillable mug this time. Bought soda at the hess and still had leftover at the end of the week. Soda is 2 12 packs for $5. We bought $15 versus one mug.
We didnt get the dining plan because we opted for the ap's and dde instead. I dont know if the dining plan would have worked for us. Sometimes we only ate one meal a day. I think I would have been too stressed thinking I need my counter service now, need my snack etc., I was happy with our dde 20% discount.

Thanks for the great reviews. Your review of the Grand Floridan Cafe sounded so good that we are going to give it a try on our next trip.

Great review ~ Thanx for sharing.

Thanks for posting, always love to read more reviews. I think Chef Mickeys is a must do once but thats it. I wasn't impressed with the food and my photographer looked like I slapped him when I asked the price for 1 photo. Good character fun though.
