Back 3 days now from 13 days of a great vacaction.
I'll rate our dining experiences on an A-F scale (it's
the teacher in me).
It was me, the wife, daughters 6 and 2.

Ohana's-- "A+"...We love this place, the food was great,
especially the appetizer tray and the steak. Service
was very good. Kids had a blast with all the excitement
going on. This is a must do every trip.

Whispering Canyon-- "A".....This was a home game for us, as
we were staying at the Lodge. We did both lunch and dinner
and had good food and fun at both. The nachos were
awesome, at dinner they are meal all alone.

Le Cellier-- "A".....We had lunch here on Sunday (27th). I
had the NY strip, and the wife had soup and salad. Both
were great with good service. We ate around 1:30 with
no wait.

Marrakesh-- "C"......First time for us, and let me start by saying
I'm glad we tried it, and it was good..but after reading reviews
and such I was expecting great. The service was just ok.
I had the chicken bastilla and chicken kababs. In both cases
the chicken was too dry. Like I said, good, but not worth the
money. The wife had the vegetable couscous, which she liked
but we'll be in no hurry to go back.

Rose and Crown-- "A"......Once again a homerun. We had a
8:00 ps for Friday (25th). We're lucky enough to get a
covered patio table for Illuminations, which was great because
it poured that night. I had the fish and chips, which was very
good. The wife had the salmon dish which she liked very much.
Another "must do" every trip.

Akershus--"B".......We did the Princess breakfast, and my 6
yr old daughter had a great time. The food was so/so, the
service was below average. For those interested, the princesses
were Jasmine, Belle, Snow White, Mulan, and Aurora.

Liberty Tree Tavern--- "A" .....We love it here, had a 7:30 ps
and when we were finished with dinner walked out for a spot
for Spectro. The food and character interaction earn the "A".
The service gets a "D-". Our waiter was so slow my wife and
kids had already left for Spectro before he offered our dessert.

Mama Melrose's-- "C+".....both of us ordered a Flatbread which
were good. The service was just o.k. I used to LOVE this place,
after the last 2-3 times though I'm cooling to it.

Garden Grille-- "A".....Great food (flank steak was awesome)
very nice character interaction.

Chef Mickey's-- "B"..... We had breakfast here, good food, decent
character interaction, poor service once again.

Artist Point-- "A+++".....This was the best meal of the entire
trip! It was my wife's birthday dinner (28th). She had the
Copper River Salmon which came out on the cedar plank. Our
waiter (Mike) said this particular type of salmon was only available
4-6 weeks per year. Good timing on our part because she said
it was the best she'd ever had. I had the Buffalo Sirloin. For those who like steak, you'll love Buffalo. It was the best steak
I've ever had. Ordered it Med. and it came out perfect, very
lean and tender. By far we had the best service here, and it
became a "must do" on our next trip.

Any questions ???? just let me know
:teeth:

Thanks for the great reviews! Glad to hear that LTT and Ohanas was good...because we will be trying them for the first time in August! We usually stick to our usuals like LeCellier and Whispering Canyon! Did you also visit US/IOA??...and did you eat at any places there?

Nope, just Disney.

Forgot to mention the counter service restaurants. They were,
well.... Disney counter service. Slow, over-priced, and
decent food. Of the ones we ate at......

Best-- Columbia Harbor House

O.k.-- Pecos Bill, Flame Tree Barbecue

Bad-- ABC Commisary (EXTREMELY slow service, and not
too clean either.

I am glad you had a good dinner at Artist's Point. I missed it last time at WDW. I was afraid it was slipping though. The menu seems a little "off."

Thanks for all your great reviews!

Ok, now I'm hungry!! :p

Thanks for the reviews! We love Artist Point too...the food is excellent (love that smoked portobella mushroom soup!!) and the service is fantastic! It's a must for every trip for us!

Thanks for the reviews! Sounds like you had some great meals. :D

Thanks for the reviews! We will be going to Ohana's for the first time on this upcoming trip.

Great reviews! Did you bring your DDs to Artist Point with you? Thanks for sharing!

Yes, the kids came with us. They shared a kids meal, and
were kept busy by coloring a Mickey picture that the restaurant
then hangs up on a bulletin board when you walk in.
Artist Point seemed to be very accomodating for the kids even
though it is an upscale place. Our waiter was also great
with them.

Mudhen - I see you ate at Whispering Canyon for both lunch and dinner - we want to try this restaurant out on our Sept trip. Just wondering if the fun happenings for the kids are more exciting at lunch or dinner? Thanks for your reviews! Jo

Well, we found it to be kind of a mixed bag. When we went for
lunch (noonish), they weren't that busy, so the antics were
more oriented just at our table, and the kids got some great
attention from the waiter (our waiter made our 2 year old
a pirate do-rag, which she wanted to wear all day. So we
walked around the parks with a napkin from the WC on her
head all day:tongue:

At dinner, when it was much more busy, the antics were
more restaurant wide. Still very entertaining, but just large
group oriented.

Great reviews. Your wife's birthday dinner sounds great.

Really surprised to hear about your service at MM. It's a favorite of our too. We always have at least one lunch there and have always had great service. Were you there for lunch or dinner? If you do try it again, ask for Kevin or Dori.::yes::

Thanks for the great reviews. Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. We love to eat at some pf the same places you ate at on this trip.

We just got back too. 4 days ago.

We also love Artist Point - isn't it the best? We didn't do it this trip and I missed it. We try to have different dining experiences so we just didnt fit it in but it's one of my favs. They have the best dessert on property - Artist Point Berry Cobbler.

I"m curious when you had your meals in World Showcase (Epcot) did you have PS for them?

I'm wondering if we could get in to Rose in Crown, etc. some of them that you tried without all the planning of ps:chat:

Thanks
