Tuesday, April 27:
We were staying in a timeshare for this vacation, so breakfasts were mostly on run from the room to the parks. The timeshare had a kitchen, but I didn't feel like cooking...I'm on vacation! So, breakfast today was an egg mcmuffin on the way to MGM. Not too exciting.

Lunch: After my Dad did a ride-along experience at the Richard Petty track it started to rain and we didn't know what to do for lunch. We decided to go to the Pepper Market at the Coronado Springs Resort and I'm glad we did! That place is cool! It took me awhile to decide what to eat, but my steak fajitas was a good decision. My dad's order was messed up...he ordered fajitas but it was more like a quesadilla... but he didn't speak up to get it fixed so that is his own fault. He said it was good anyway. My sister and Dad's wife got huge salads and my Uncle got a bowl of soup. Everyone was pleased. It was also nice to have separate tickets to ring up at the cashier... for once people weren't fighting over the bill! However, it was a little pricey. My fajitas and soda rang up to over $16. I wish I had brought my quick and casual vouchers, but they were back at the timeshare...oh well. The quality of the food was well worth the cash anyway.

Dinner: Dinner was supposed to be a 7:35 ps at the Liberty Tree Tavern, but my stomach hurt (later I realized that the Tylenon 8-hour I was taking for my marathon training was the uncoated kind...I think that made me feel sick) and I didn't think I needed an all you can eat dinner. I was going to let them go without me, but they decided they weren't hungry enough either. Bummer...I really wanted to try the Tavern :( Next trip, I guess.

So everyone went the the Columbia Harbor House instead. I didn't feel like anything on that menu, so I got a burger at Pinnochios and brought it over to the Columbia. The burger was fine and actually my stomach felt better with some food. Everyone else thought their dinners were fine...the girl at the counter messed up an order and gave us fish sticks instead of chicken, but when it was brought to her attention she just gave us chicken and said to keep the fish as well. That was nice.

News flash: The chowder no longer comes in a bread bowl!!! I didn't order it, but my Dad did and that is a major disappointment for future visits. Just a plain old bowl. Boring (plus, less filling)!

Wednesday, April 29:
Breakfast was a coffee roll from Dunkin Donuts which is actually a treat. I am from Boston originally, but live in LA and we don't have Dunkin Donuts out here. It was good.

Lunch: Typhoon Lagoon - Leaning Palms
I got a fried chicken sandwich was kind of disappointing because all it was was a fried chicken breast on a bun...no mayo, no lettuce or any kind of sauce. It tasted good (think kfc), but kind of dry. Maybe there was a fixins bar I missed, but I don't think so.
I also got a gator wave later in the day... a pina colada mixed with strawberry. Yummy but very sweet.

Dinner: Everyone except my sister went home this afternoon, so it was just the two of us for dinner. We finally whipped out the quick and casual vouchers and went to Beaches and Cream for Dinner. We were there at 5pm and I was surprised that we had no wait and got a booth. We split a voucher and ordered a prime rib sub (very tasty...smaller than I thought it would be, but plenty) with onion rings on the side (about 10 rings...on the plate, not a separate basket), 2 diet cokes (planning to pay for one) and a fudge mudslide sundae (very good). There is no way one person could eat all of this....splitting was perfect. Our waitress split the meals on two plates and didn't charge for the second coke, so we tipped a few dollars in addition to the voucher. A bargain.

Part 3 to come...

Thanks for the reviews. I can't wait to try Beaches and Cream on our next trip:bounce:

Great reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Thanks for the reviews, I'll be eating at Liberty Tree Tavern next week and I'll post my review when I get back! Sorry you weren't feeling well that day. :(

Oh man, is there a Dunkin Donuts nearby? I don't have any around where I live, and I've been dying for a Mocha Coolata! Yum!!

Hey Kimble! Thanks for the reviews. Do you ever get Winchell's Donuts in LA? :wave2:

I have had Winchells... but a Krispy Kreme just opened a few blocks from me, so that is hard to resist now! However, I grew up with Dunkin Donuts, so they will always be my favorite.

Thanks for the reviews. You mentioned that CHH no longer serves the clam chowder in a bread bowl - did you happen see anyone else there eating the vegetarian chili? I'm just wondering if they no longer serve that in a bread bowl either. If not, I'll be very disappointed :( and we may have to make other plans for lunch since I don't think it'd be filling enough without the bread bowl.

Unfortunatey, I don't think anything has a bread bowl anymore. I took a quick look at the menu while I was there (I thought maybe they had run out of bread bowls), but I didn't notice any item listing it. :(

Hi, can you tell me how far you had to drive off site to get to Dunkin Donuts, and where it is? Thanks!

The Dunkin Donuts that I went to was on 192... west of I-4 (about 3 traffic stops). The light it is closest to is Entry Point Drive. I was staying off-site, so it was convenient, but it would also be especially convenient to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. As you exit the lodge and take a right (sign to 192) it is about a 5 minute drive. It is a small Dunkin Donuts combined with a Baskin Robbins ice cream shop (next to a Circle K shop/gas station). They do have a drive-thru.
