It was dh,myself and ds 17. I didnt want to cancel our trip with all my medical issues which you can read about on the Community Board, so what we got were kind of last minute.
12/2 The Plaza in MK. This is the lst time we ate here. We got the 2nd table by the door. It was freezing that night before MVMCP. Our adr was for 4:50. People tried to walk up and they said no walk ups accepted. I am glad we had the DDE/TIW card. Our server was terrible. I should have known trouble was coming when the table next to us left, came back and went over their bill and then came back again. We also heard them say " We will only order dessert if SHE does not bring it to us!!". Well dh ordered the tomatoe bisque soup, I ordered the vegeterian chili. There was stuff spilled all over each of our cups, nothing nice about the presentation. Ds ordered a salad and I think I have seen better at Cicis pizza when we lived in Dallas. For the main meal DH had the reuben, said it was good, I had the cheese steak, the roll was fresh, but not much meat, ds had a burger and said it was good. The server only had 2-3 tables and she handed dh my meal. Later she couldnt even come over and take my dirty plate away. I actually had to reach 1/2 way across the table and hand it to her. She made some strange comment to me, like at least you are in here and not out there. Well, it felt like out there everytime the door opened. We got desserts and got out of there. The only saving grace of this meal was the discount and the great brownie sundae I had with mint choc. chip ice cream. The others enjoyed their desserts too. Just sundaes, nothing special. It was nice to try it once but I dont think we will be going back.
12/3 - Captains Grill at Yacht Club. We all had the buffet breakfast. I didnt actually see any of it since I cant walk too much lately. But they DO have Mickey Waffles and that made ds really happy. The only thing I didnt care for was the pancakes and the potatoes have too much tiny onion and peppers in them. The apple danish was good, the other option was cheese.
12/3 Candlelight Processional at San Angel. We got seated pretty quick around 5 pm and the restraunt looked half empty. We had a problem with the server at lst. Someone else came over and took our drink order, then the next server took the food order. I dont like the darkness in there and like to actually see what I am eating. We were not informed what we could order. I spefically said to the lst server, oh we get an appetizer, entree and dessert etc. He said yes. For the appetizers Ds had the Botanas Mexicanas. He liked the duck taco the best. DH and I got the empanads. For the entree I had the filet, Dh had the Filet with Chiles and Ds asked for chicken breast minus some stuff. He didnt enjoy picking off some of the stuff it came with. I enjoyed the plantain that was part of my meal. For desserts ds asked for ice cream and dh and I had the flan. DH did not care for it. Later, lets just say I spent way too much time in the bathroom and wonderful ds flew my wheelchair back to Yacht Club in about 5 minutes flat. I only took this as it was the only CP package they had that everyone agreed upon. Needless to say we wont be back here again, CP or no CP package.
12/4 Lunch at Tusker House in AK. Love this place as usual. lst time for ds here and he loved it too. Everything is fresh, only problem is such a long walk to the food. I love the mac and cheese here. Also my favorite dessert is the banana bread pudding and the chocolate cups. I think the chicken was a little dry. The pork and beef were good. The sauce served next to the beef is a little spicy. I also had both the hot and cold green bean dishes. Dh had lots of everything as usual. We even got the same server we had in May.
12/5
Lunch at LTT. We had a later lunch seating and the place was practically deserted. Our table was right next to the kitchen. I wouldnt have liked this if it was busy. The constant comings and goings made the floor shake and kept jarring my already bad back., The service was great as was the food. I had the soup of the day, I think it was chicken vegetable or beef barley, it was good., ds had the tavern cheese and said it was good, the sticks were, but not the cheese balls, Forgot dh appetizer, for the entree Ds had the colony salad, I had the pot roast, great and dh had a burger. For desserts ds and I got the apple tart and dh had the strawberry shortcake. An all around good meal.
12/6 Lunch Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD
It was really crowded here and we got a table outside the regular area. Dh had some kind of roast beef sandwhich, ds had the barbeque salad and I had the chicken ceasar salad. DS was picking stuff off his salad and not being happy. He asked our server for extra cheddar cheese. We had 2 fruit cups that were forgotton but promptly supplied. Dessert was creme brule and it was oh so good.
Dinner - Whispering Canyon, thanks to a diser who posted on the dec. thread. Hadnt been here in a long time. The only interaction /fun our own server had with us was just throwing the napkins and straws on the table. It was really crowded that night. We were in the main room and saw the pony races twice. For appetizer we got the nachos to share. Entree - I had the skillet, The pulled pork was good, the chicken was a little dry and and the ribs were dry too. The beef was acceptable. Ds had the ribs and subbed fries for the mashed potatoes. DH had the trout, lets just say he spent the night in the bathroom so this place is off our list too. It also took a long time to get there from the YC. Ds had a few different flavor milkshakes, chocolate etc. The flavors of the day were bubble gum and cotton candy, Eww, He didnt get these. I dont know if that was a joke or not.
12/8 Captains Grille for breakfast. Good again, dh had some baked tomatoe and salmon this time. This time it was cherry danish, my favorite, and it was great.
Snacks: Epcot:
Tangerine Cafe? - Baklava, did not enjoy this
Norway Bakery - Cherry danish for me, cloudberry horn for dh and chocolate mouse cake for ds. Yummy!!
MK Confectionary - Carmel Apple, so fresh, ate in when we got home 2 days later. Cotton Candy for ds, chocolate covered pretzels etc.
Osborne Lights - roasted nuts - Warning: These things are as hard as a rock. If you have bad teeth, dont try these. The cashews , not hot, were o.k. The carmel popcorn was not good.
The restraunts were really busy, so if you go without an adr it will probably be hit or miss this time of year if they will seat you.
