The cast:
DH - Age 36. Loves to eat and drink. Pretty adventurous eater but has his limits (won't touch escargot). Especially loves things high in sodium and preservatives. Puts ketchup, hot sauce, or Italian dressing on everything!

Me - Age 32. I'm a bit more of an adventurous eater than DH (won't eat spinach or shrimp though). I am definitely a moody eater and tend to be a bit of a food snob according to DH.

The meals:
Yorkshire Fish & Chips
Garden Grill
50's PTC
California Grill
Flametree
Boma
'Ohana
Crystal Palace
Coral Reef
Boulangerie
Pinocchio Haus
Yak & Yeti (snack only)

Day 1: Epcot

We were planning on take it slow today because DH started out the vacation with some foot pain and blisters from some chafing arch inserts and was a bit whiny. We decided to eat at the Yorkshire Fish & Chips place at the UK pavilion for lunch because DH didn't feel like walking over to Morocco. We each got the fish & chips platter. I got the shortbread dessert (I love short bread). DH went with a bag of chips (crisps) for his dessert. Why he didn't get the shortbread for me to snack on later, I'm not sure and am still waiting for a satisfactory answer ;)
I'm a New England Catholic girl. Fair enough to say that fish and chips have been a Friday staple for me pretty much my entire life. I am really picky about the fish and chips, but I really enjoyed my food. Plus they had vinegar in little packets. That made me really happy because I can't really eat fries without malt vinegar. The fish was slightly greasy and the fries a little undercooked, but I would definitely rate the meal an A-. It was apparent that the fish and chips were a favorite meal of the ducks, based on the glares we both got. It felt like being at home, except we had ducks watching us instead of beagles.

Dinner:
DH and I had 6:50 reservations at Garden Grill. This is one of DH's favorite restaurants in the past, but we haven't been there in several years. We showed up 15min early (too long of a line for Soarin), and were seated 15min late. Our server was nice but a bit too chatty and forgetful. I had to ask twice for the bread (we got it after our meal). I really wasn't impressed with the food. The veggies were great though, but the platter was really small for 2 people to share, it got cold fast, and it was a bit bland. DH and I did enjoy the flank steak. I loved the carrots, green beans, and sweet potatoes. The apple cobbler was pretty standard.
Character interaction was excellent. All of the characters were extremely playful and came by a couple of times. Chip got a little too friendly with me according to DH ;) It was probably the best character encounter of our trip. Overall I would give it a B- because the characters were so good, or it would have been closer to a C-

Great start to your reviews - I love the fish and chips at the UK pavilion (with loads of salt and vinegar :thumbsup2 )

Thanks for the GG review. My DD and I are going there for my birthday next month and I was wondering how it was going to be. She loves Pluto so I thought this would be a good one.

Thanks for the comments :)

Day 2

DH and I split a bacon & egg panini and a chocolate croissant at the BW Bakery on the ferry to MGM. The croissant was good as always, but the panini was dry and kind of bland. they were also out of refillable mugs. That seemed to be the theme of the week - they never had them when we went to get one, no matter what time we showed up.

Lunch: 50's PTC

I made noon ADR for PTC. DH had never been and he grew up in a very retro family, so I knew he would be either loving the experience or a bit weirded out by it.
We arrived 10min early and were seated less than 5min later. Our server was Adrianna, who I've been told is very strict. Unfortunately, there was a table of 10 teens and 2 adults that were obnoxious next to us, and cousin Adrianna was frazzled because of their antics and demands. They were messy, loud, and each one had a separate check and several of them had issues with declined credit cards.
The service, despite the aggravation caused by our neighbors was flawless, but unfortunately she wasn't into the performance. She apologized profusely but it did take a little of the specialness away from the experience, particularly since it was DH's first time. There was an elderly woman with her son and DIL next to us at a tv booth and it was a hoot watching how excited the mother was to compare the decor to her old kitchen.

The food: DH and I both got the PBJ milkshake, Wonderful as always. We split the herbed cheese. Neither of us had it before and it was really good. DH got the chicken sandwich. He liked it, but said it wasn't anything really special. I got the pot roast and it was excellent. I couldn't finish it, so DH finished it for me,
All and all I would give the experience a B+. I would definitely eat there again, but probably off-hours. DH wishes we ate at Sci Fi.

Dinner:

We had 7pm ADR at CG. I was very excited because we were celebrating our anniversary, it was a wishes night, and DH had never been to CG before. We arrived and from the very beginning service was spectacular. We got a table overlooking the castle. There was mickey confetti on the table. We got a complimentary photo and certificate, and anniversary buttons. Everything was perfect.
Food:
DH got the cheese sampler, which he absolutely loved and let me try. Each of the cheeses were perfectly paired and were wonderful. Well I don't like blue cheese, so I couldn't tell you about that one :rotfl: I had the lobster salad. The presentation was gorgeous and it was delicious.

For dinner, DH went with the scallops with risotto. The risotto was excellent and flavorful. He got 5 or 6 good sized scallops that were cooked perfectly. I gave him enough of the puppy dog look to get him to give me one. omg so good!
I had the filet. First I could cut the thing with a butter knife. It was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. The roasted root veggies went perfectly with the steak. I was in carnivore heaven. It was "foodgasmic".
I can't for the life of me remember what I had for dessert. I took pictures, so I'll post that later. It was good whatever it was. Dh had the molten chocolate cake with the homemade ice cream and he loved it.

After the meal, we went to the observatory to watch Wishes. It was incredibly romantic and really the perfect evening. Definitely our best experience of the trip. A++++++++
