Thanks for all the great advice. We used the dining plan and as it turned out, we ate $1550 worth of food (3 adults, 3 kids) and only spent $945 for the plan--so a good value. However-there is no way we would have eaten like that if we weren't on the plan. It was entirely too much food, but it was fun to be able to try new places, and convenient to not have to worry about prices. Having said that, here is an abbreviated review...I forget what day we ate where-so I just made a list...
1. Dinner at LeCellier--it was okay..I know..everyone thinks its so great. The steaks were very good and cooked perfectly. The potatoes were very dry. The cheese soup was good, but so rich that none of use could eat a whole bowl. The bread was good and the kids meals looked good, but my kids (4-year old triplets) were so tired from the trip, none of them ate much and one of them actually fell asleep in the booth! Anyway--the bill was $200-so thank goodness we were on the plan-I would never pay that price for that quality--I like Outback just as much!
3.B'fast at the Castle--GREAT! good food, good character interaction. This made my daughters' day!
4. Dinner at Peco Bills--I see why everyone loves this place. I loved the hamburger toping bar and I loved the healthy kids meal choice--chilled chicken with raw veggies--yum!
5. Dinner at Mama Melroses--huge portions, great food, lovely service. It was great. I had a chicken alfredo dish that was terrific and my father had spicy sauage (he loved it but it was too spicy to eat all of it). My hisband had chicken parm and it was so good--and there was so much of it!
6. Dinner at Crystal Palace--many of you will hate me when I tell you I cancelled O'Hanas for this! At this point in the trip-my kids were most excited about seeing characters--that's what really made them happy. So we decided to stay at MK that day and just eat at Crystal Palace. It was well worth it. The buffet food was fresh and there was a great selection for all of us. The pork was tender, the cream of turkey soup was delicious and the gralic potatoes were perfect (much better than LeCellier!)
7. Dinner at Whispering Canyon--we all had a great time here. We all had the milkshakes. Hubby had the skillet, I had a pasta dish and my father had steak (which was good, but it took them 2 times to get it cooked well done). The apple dessert was great-I was the only oner who got dessert!
9. Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare--I can't say enough about this breakfast--I'm not a big breakfast person, but this was great-a huge selection, southwest eggs, a great homefries dish with mushrooms and ham, carved ham, waffles with strawberries..yum!!!
10. Earl of Sandwich--The club sandwich was out of this world--maybe the best sandwich I've ever had. My husaband's meatball sub was very good too. The girls had PB&J and Grilled cheese and they ate every bite.
11. ESPN Club--You couldn't pay me to eat there again. I had steak--it was all fat-I ate only one bite and I couldn't find another bite with no fat. Hubby had pulled pork and also only ate one bite. It was dry and very overcooked. The waitress did not offer to get us anything else, but luckily we had filled up on nachos and clam chowder, so no big deal. My dad had the hamburger and that was okay he said.
That's all!
