My husband and I took this trip with out our three kids and it ended up being the trip of eating. This was our fourth trip to disney and looking back we will always remember this trip as the one that we stuffed ourselves silly and planned our days around where we wanted to eat, not what park we wanted to visit. We really didn't have any bad eating experiences on this trip. The food at the Sci Fi Dine In was not great but the atmosphere made up for it. We had the ribs and wouldn't recomend them. Here is a list of our favourite dining experiences.
Tangierine Cafe (Morocco) - Shawarma platter (Yummy!)
Concourse Steakhouse (Contemporary) - Sirloin Steak (Melt in your mouth! )
Biergarden (Germany) - lunch buffet (We ate so much that we had to roll our selves back to the resort for a nap.)
Grand Floridian Cafe - Floridian burger & potato bacon soup (Any burger that comes with guacamole is going to be good and the soup was rich but yummy.)
Palio (Swan) - Linguine with shrimp & scallops and Tortelloni with lobster (This restaurant had an upscale feel with reasonable prices and the food was excellent.)
Cantina de san Angel (Mexico) - I love their nachos!
Yorkshire County fishshop (UK) - fish and chips (Yummy!)
Pizzafari (AK) - Hot Italian style sandwich & chicken parmesean sandwich (Yummy!)
Bomas (Animal kingdom Lodge) - This was the only restaurant we ate at that we had been to on a previous trip. I think it will become a tradition following a day at the Animal Kingdom. We love to sample a little of everything. I love the different soups and hummus and my husband loves the different sauces for his meat. (Yummy!)
Wispering Canyon Cafe (Wilderness Lodge) - Allthough we have eaten here twice before with the kids, this was the first time for breakfast. The food was great as usual and we had the best server this time who really made our last day at the lodge a memorable and fun one.
Tony's Restaurant (Magic kingdom)- Fried Goat cheese & Chicken Florentine (This was our last dinner at Disney and my favourite. The chicken Florentine had to be the best food I have ever eaten. Since being home I have been searching the internet for a similar recipe. If anyone has the recipe for Tony's Chicken Florentine I would love to get it.)
I would go back to all of these restaurant again on future trips. One thing I did learn was that we need to share meals next time. The portions are huge, even for my husband who usually eats a lot. I would even go back to Sci Fi Dine In with the kids because I think they would love the theme. I should also add that we made a nightly stop at each parks bakery. We tried the fudge, cookies, chocolate strawberries, smores, brownies and turtle like squares. We both have a major sweet tooth so this was a little slice of heaven for us.
I have to thank this dining forum for my fabulous trip. Without all of the time I spent reading other dinning reviews I may have stuck to our usual restaurants (as good as they are) and missed out on these new dining favourites. I hope my review can help those planning for their next trip.
