Ok I know I'm really stupid but we just planed a trip to the World in November and I can't seem to find any character dining reservations, while this is better for my wallet my children will be sadly disappointed without Chef Mickeys and maybe a few other. Our party has 9 should I call instead or am I just out of luck?

Thanks

I would call because it may be the party size that is flummoxing the online reservation. You might have to have 2 reservations but that is always a possibility with such a large party. Good Luck!:)

Same problem for me. Everything is booked bc of free dining. Go over to the restaurant board and check the pinned threads on top about reservations to look for cancellation announcements.

Just my luck as a DVC member never get any good benefits since they already have us Love my disney keeping fingers crossed things open up as it gets closer

I would keep the faith! With the new ADR guidelines and 24hr cancellation policy, I'm sure you will find what you need as people adjust their schedules and reservations. If able keep checking online. I don't know if calling vs. checking online is any different but there is still plenty of time & lost of options. Be flexible, check different dates. Good luck!

I did check every day of my trip and nothing. I am flexible we do our park days around our dining I guess I will be checking every day is all ugh yeah for me lol.

I just started planning mine too! It sucks checking everyday but I kind of like the challenge!! lol

I don't believe calling will make a difference, but be sure to search for smaller tables, too. If you can get a table for 4 and another for 5, you might be able to get seated together, or at least eat at the same time.

I've seen garden grove and tusker house open here and there if you want traditional characters. Haven't seen any availability for princesses or chef mickey no matter what party size I'm looking for.

Was able to at least get garden grove I will have to look everyday for chef mickeys. I love my DVC but am considering selling because I don't get the benefits of regular disney guests. Not that I shouldn't have booked 180 out but we were not sure about who was coming. Thanks for the help and listening to my rant.

I'm having a tough time for November too. I booked at 180 days out and was still unable to get Chef Mickey, 1900 or BOG. I have resorted to checking multiple times a day as well. Good luck!

Free dining is not a perk. It's there to sell rooms. yes, it does result in restaurants getting booked, and character meals are among the first things to go.

Next time, book at 180 for everyone you THINK is coming. You can remove them later or just show up without them. That is much easier than trying to add people later.

We did not have the DDP when we initially booked our November trip back in April so when our 180 day mark came, I just booked Hoop Dee Doo and that was it. Then weeks later got a free dining pin so we couldn't pass it up and had to start looking for ADR's. Got most of them easily but a few I needed better times. And then I was searching everyday for Garden Grill with no luck. Finally after weeks of checking 100 times a day, the perfect time popped up for our party of 3 on our arrival day and we were going to be in Epcot anyway. Also was able to get the better times we wanted for Via Napoli! You never know.. When you keep checking things randomly appear and that is what happened for us. Good luck and hope you end up getting what you want! :thumbsup2
