Dining Reservations

Since WDW started the dining plan, you pretty much HAVE to get reservations for your dining choices ahead of time. Is it as difficult to get into the DLRP restos, or could we just walk in and have a chance at a table?

If I do need to make ressies, how do I do it? The 6 hr time difference makes phone calls a little tricky.

When are you going? If it's a busy time of year, or if you have restaurants in mind you really want to eat in, it might be best to book. Some restaurants, like Annette's, can't be reserved anyway so are definitely walk-ins, but it's better to arrive at the restaurant before park closure.

It shouldn't be super-busy unless there's a French holiday then - have a look in the stickies, there's a list of the French school holidays.

The only time we have ever booked restaurants in advance was on our last trip between Christmas and New Year. We knew it would be super busy then and had particular restaurants we wanted to eat at on specific days.

Other than this we have always booked whilst at the resort - usually the day before and we have always got into the restaurant we wanted - on Easter Monday, in the height of Summer etc

Even in the height of summer any restaurant bookings we have made have been on the day

Although what do I do with myself now if I don't have to be arranging my reservations? Planning a Disney vacation is almost as much fun as actually being there. For me, anyway!

We had a quick trip at beginning of Feb & found all the restaurants at 'the Village' really busy but the Disney hotel restaurants were'nt all that bad. We looked at Sequoia Lodge & could have got a table within half hour..Nice bar there to while away the time too!(DH not feeling up to a big meal though so didn't bother!)
Decided to book the buffet at Cape Cod restaurant in Newport Bay Hotel for the next evening which we did on arrival to The Park in the morning in 'City Hall'.. It was FAB..Got a table for 7.45pm which was perfect & the buffet was really really excellent so we'd definately recommend it!
